What would you wait in line 5 hours for?

I don't take vacations just to stand in a line. I can do that for free at home. At WDW, time is money!

I was gonna say "nothing", but then I remembered we waited about that long to get in to Disneyland on July 17, 2005 for Disneyland's 50th Birthday.

So, I'll have to say: I would wait that long to get in to Disneyland on July 17, 2055 for Disneyland's 100th Birthday. :rotfl:

Well, since I was also at Disneyland on July 17, 2005, my answer will be: Nothing. I had a nice comfy bed at the Grand Californian. I wasn't gonna wait overnight at DCA! :rotfl2:

Short of a lot of cash, there is nothing I'd wait 5 hours for. No toy, no book, no person is worth 5 hours of waiting...to me.

I would wait for a FREE DVC membership (fees and dues included), FREE lifetime pass to WDW for me and my family, and I have waited in line for football tickets in college!! I attended Texas A&M and some of you may know our biggest rival is UT. When it's a home game the tickets sell fast and inorder to get a student ticket we all camp out for days!! Yes we do bleed maroon down here in Aggieland!!

A free podcast cruise :goodvibes

Ok you got me with that one! I would too! :goodvibes

Definately would wait 5 hours if promised DVC!

:rotfl: :rotfl: yes we've done that - but I'd rather be at the airport early than rush and risk missing the flight. Totally different on the way home though :rolleyes1

I have probably waited about 4 and a half hours for a fight. We flew to California 2 days after the Glasgow attack, and we were prepared for serious problems with security! Luckly there were no issues going through security but we did have a massive mess up at the money collection centre, so we are glad we got there early!

Put it this way: I only waited about 45 minutes to meet JK Rowling herself at a booksigning for Goblet of Fire. I would wait no more than that for the Harry Potter ride!

I thought about this and honestly my answer is ...

NOTHING

Heck! If a line at WDW or DLR is longer than 20 minutes, we FP it or wait until later or another trip. Life is too short to wait! On my deathbed, I would want those five precious hours back!

:goodvibes Jennifer
i'm with you- i won't wait more than 20 minutes for an attraction at the parks, unless there is some reason (like last day and we missed a certain ride), but even then, 30 minutes is my max.

I don't think i would wait 5 hours for anything.

I am not patient and my DH is one of those that wants to walk into the movie as it is starting and skip the previews. He hates waiting. time is precious. no way am i waiting 5 hours just standing around for something like that.

In my youth, I think some friends and I stood in line on the opening night of the first Star Trek movie almost that long. Oh, well....

How many Disneylanders will be willing to wait that long to get the choice spots to see The Wonderful World of Color at DCA?

I would wait five hours for a podcast cruise. If I could wait somewhere close.

At Disney? Nothing. The only thing I will wait more than 30 minutes for in Disney is Spectro or Fantasmic.

In general: I have waited in line 14 hours to make sure I got at the front of the stage (actually, catwalk) for a U2 concert. I plan on doing the same thing this July.

 I am TOTALLY opposite. If I miss the previews, I'm miserable! Of course, more often than not, when I SEE the previews I feel miserable, too!

Same here unless i got paid to wait in line for five hours then i would.

I agree nothing. I was thinking that when I see a 20 minute wait, I either FP it or just go back later.

Hmmm. I waited 2 hours once to see Sue Grafton and get her autograph.

Totally worth it! I love those Kinsey Millhone books.

But for a theme park ride? No way.

I love those books!!! :goodvibes

Hi Dara!!!! :wave2: Where have you been and how are you? I was thinking about you about about a month ago. I was wondering if you were still around. I'm glad to see you back around here. :goodvibes

I would wait in line 5 hours to talk to Bob Iger and find out the REAL reason they closed PI and what their "bold new vision" actually is!

For attractions, I might be willing to wait that long to meet the interactive talking Mickey, but only if it was a special access thing. If it was a common thing, as I think it will be in the future, then my normal rule of 20 minutes or less only would apply.

I don't wait in line for rides. I stay outta the parks when they are busy and if I do go, I don't do rides, I do other things. Somehow getting drunk at EPCOT never gets boring LOL.

i would wait in line to pay my respects to a great statesman who was lying in state....i guess that's a weird thing, but i would (not only would i, i have done so in the past)...

I waited 6 hours at a NJ Mall to get tickets to see Barbra Streisand at Madison Square Garden. My DH (bless his soul) drove us all there and waited with us and even went to the concert. He doesn't love Barbra like I do. so we thought that was very sweet of him.

i just remembered.....DD and I waited in line 11 hours for her american idol audition in Austin Texas.....how could i have forgotten that?????
