What Would You FP+ In This Situation

Hi all!

We're going to WDW in September. This will be our 4 year old DD's first trip. We've watched all of the ride videos and for our MK day, these are her "must" rides. I'm not sure which rides warrant FP+. We haven't been to WDW since '08 and didn't use any FP's when we went so I'm completely unfamiliar with the system.

- Pretty much every single thing in Fantasyland: Little Mermaid, Winnie the Pooh, Tea Cups, Dumbo, Barnstormer, ETwB, 7DMT
- Peter Pan
- Haunted Mansion
- Splash Mountain
- PoTC

We're getting to the park pre-rope drop for breakfast and then booking it over to Fantasyland to start our day there. I realize that this is a huge list and we probably won't get it all done before she crashes for the day so I hope FP+ can help us get as much as possible done. Also, we won't be spending any time in the parks meeting characters (unless we magically stumble across them with no lines haha) since we'll be dining with several of them and have an opportunity to meet characters at MNSSHP, so I don't want to use FP+ on that. Thanks in advance for your help!!

Since you are going straight to Fantasyland - I would fastpass
1. Haunted mansion
2. Splash Mountain
3. 7DMT - Since the 7DMT is new I would get the fastpass for that or go straight there and fastpass Peter Pan. Peter Pan is a long wait no matter when you go. We have seen 60-70 minute waits at 9pm. So I would pick between 7DMT or Peter Pan as the third Fastpass.

We had no problem with Dumbo - now that there are two of them. Also had no problem with Barnstormer. PoTC line moves quickly and had the same thing for Little Mermaid.

Enjoy!

I would definitely FP 7DMT and probably Peter Pan. As a third I would probably go with Splash Mtn. I would head to ETWB first, then you should be OK in the morning getting on Pooh, teacups, Mermaid, Dumbo and Barnstormer without too much of a line in September. After that hit Haunted mansion and POTC, use the FPs last.

The two longest lines in the MK, by far, are for 7DMT and the meet 'n' greet with Anna and Elsa. If you want to do either of those, get a FP.
After that I would say a FP for ETWB. Even though Peter Pan gets long lines, it is a short ride and you can ride it very quickly if you go there at rope drop. This would be preferable to heading to ETWB first as that is a time eater and you will be wasting valuable morning touring time at the attraction.

easywdw.com and kennythepirate.com both have really good (and free!) touring plans that you can check out that include how to best use FP+. kennythepirate is more character centric and easywdw.com is more ride centric.
Also, hopefully MesaBoy will chime in with his extremely helpful FP+ link. :)

September at least you shouldn't have to worry too much. And with the new rules if you make all your FP in the morning you should be able to get a couple more hopefully.

I'm not sure what things will look like in September, but when we went last week, everyone booked it to Fantasyland first thing. It seemed like most people were after the 7 Dwarfs ride & the Anna and Elsa meet & greet, so if you're looking to do other things, you should be able to without much trouble, but the crowds can be tough to navigate through.

And one thing I noticed is that EtWB seems to have much shorter waits now than in previous months, possibly because of the newer princess stuff.

Based on everything I keep reading, I would say Anna and Elsa, PP, and 7DMT. Everything else should be short waits or available as a 4th FP after you use your initial 3.

I would FP+ ETwB, 7DMT and Splash Mountain.

I'd ride Peter Pan first in the morning, then work your way around and do Winnie the Pooh, Tea Cups, Dumbo, Barnstormer, Little Mermaid and IASW on your way to Frontierland.

After you use your 3rd FP+ I'd try to make one for PoTC, then Haunted Mansion.

I think you can make it on all of that before she crashes. Assuming you bring a stroller she can nap for a while and the rest of your party can continue on.

I was thinking that we'd most likely need to fastpass 7DMT since it's so new. Those are kind of in line with what I was thinking. Thanks so much!

I have been seriously considering going to ETwB first since I've heard it's such a long production (and therefore a long wait time) and I wasn't sure if it was FP worthy. Thanks!

Good things to think about. I think ETwB or Peter Pan will be our first "ride" I just can't decide which. Definitely sounds like a FP for 7DMT is a must. Thanks!!

I was so hoping it would be less crowded when we go but with Food & Wine starting a week early, I'm starting to think it's going to be more crowded than I anticipated. Thanks for the FP suggestions!!

Oh, really? I was figuring everyone would be heading to Splash and BTMRR first thing. Hmmm... more to think about!! Haha! Thanks!!

Sweet! Thanks!

That sounds like a great plan! We are taking a stroller. I know it'd be more than doable if it were just my husband and I but I just don't know how much a 4 year old, plus the in-laws might slow us down. The stroller will definitely help though. Thank you!

If your in-laws need a break a ride on the Riverboat is always a relaxing time. I also like Philharmagic and the Country Bear Gymboree for some good sit down time.

Your list sounds quite doable with the help of rope drop arrival and Fastpasses. I would also suggest fast passing SDMT, ETWB and PP. Head into the park and go directly to Splash, hit Haunted Mansion in your way back in to Fantasyland and start working through all of those rides while you wait for your FPs (I would schedule these with a window starting about two hours after rope drop.) Hopefully you would even get to get a 4th FP.

Good luck and enjoy! :)
