What would you do??

We have two different trip possibilities in our future! The problem is that we cannot afford to do both so I have to choose.

Option #1 Dh and I could go to Disney this September for one week on the 7for5 package. I haven't been for over a year and I'm very anxious to try Mission: Space. Plus, I'm a Disney maniac!!

Option #2 We could wait and go on an all inclusive vacation with friends in January, 2005 (Mexico, Cuba or DR) We've all been having fun throwing ideas out in the preliminary planning. This would be a relaxing trip - escape from the cold weather of January.

The dilemma is that I'm nervous travelling with other people. We went to Disney with another couple (it would be different people this time) a few years ago and let's just say that didn't go well! I want the trip to be stress-free. Plus, if we decide to go the all-inclusive route, we won't have any trips until January. I know that's not TOO far way, but September is even closer! I really don't know what to do. Ideally, I'd like to do both but we have too many house projects to do in the meantime.

That being said, I dislike Mexico, I HATE the Dominican Republic (I think that might be what you meant), and all-inclusives usually aren't the most wonderful thing you could experience.

Disney gets my vote, too.

I love the ocean, but I'd choose Disney over those places anytime. I went to Cabo San Lucas, but it was deserty and I thought Mexico was just okay. Now someplace like Europe or someplace tropical like Hawaii or Bermuda might be tempting. Maybe there they don't have people on the beach trying to sell you stuff you don't want- like jewelry and drugs . Cabo did.

Why would you want to go away with friends when you could spend a week alone with your sweetie?

P.S. We've done the friends vacations and have found that we can travel with my brother and SIL and with my best friend from HS and my DH's best friend from HS. Other than that... things haven't gone so well. We don't even still speak to some of the people we've traveled with. Too much to risk.

Traveling with friends is VERY risky. Even people that you think you could NEVER, EVER dislike, on trips you can suddenly HATE THEM. After many bad trips with friends, I have learned to never do them again. Here's my little thumb of rule for traveling with friends.

"If you wouldn't be able to handle them moving in with you for a over a year, then you shouldn't travel with them."

A trip is something intimate between loved ones.

I would personally choose Disney. Especially when the Mexico resort is all inclusive. I think it would be WAY too much time together and too many personal things exposed (bickering, annoying habits, etc)
