It has standard rooms, but I believe the rooms close to the lobby are preferred.

It seems that you've made up your mind but I was going to say that if you've never stayed at Christmastime then go in December just for that. You really have no idea what you are missing. The parks and resorts are all decorated and you have the Candlelight Processional, Christmas Around the World, the Osborne Family Spectacle of Lights, Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party and yes it snows on Main Street. Plus you'll be at your favorite resort. For me the theming is part of my vacation and why I now own DVC and the Wilderness Lodge as I love the theming there and stay every year in late November or early December. Just wanted to make sure you had all the facts before you make the final "final" decision. Good Luck!!!

My DH, DS(2), and I have a trip booked for August. It was at CBR but we now have changed to POP (Due to financial reasons) Its our anniversary trip and I've been bummed since we made the resort change. I've always stayed at CBR and enjoyed my stay and was hoping for that mor romantic feel. Either we can keep our current reservation or hold off until the beginnning of December and stay at CBR then. Although it wouldn't be an anniversary trip at that point, but it would be an early christmas present. Last year, we spent a lot of time at the resort and it was very relaxing, I'm just wondering if we will get there and wish we waited. What would you do? Keep the current reservation with the 4/3 deal, or wait to get a mod in Decemebr.

Just my two cents but I love CBR and would always talk dh into staying there. Last year we planned our trip and DH said he really wanted to stay at Pop, I was so bummed, I scanned these posts like crazy to see what other disers really thought of POP. I was so sure it was going to be a terrible decision. But I relented and off to POP we went.
I was so pleasently surprised. I loved POP immediately. The Icons all over are so much fun, the resort is spread out, and besides the morning rush for breakfast I didnt have the feel it was too crowded or busy and we were there in June right after all the schools got out. The Parks were a zoo but the resort wasnt. There is a nice bar at the hippy dippy pool that makes a great strawberry daquiri. In fact I loved it so much that we are going back in Sept. and are again staying at POP. Everyone has thier own reasons for the resorts they select, but if you always stay at CBR you will never have the chance to experience other resorts and see what they have to offer.

The rooms are not much bigger at CBR, the resort is just as spread out, there isnt any beach at POP, but how much do you actualy use it? The only other down side to POP is there isnt refrigerators in the rooms unless you pay an additional fee.

IMHO POP is a wonderful resort and I cant wait to go back.
