So we already own at BLT, and know we want to add 160-200pts. more at some point. We don't "need" the points until next June (2010). Should we wait for a better incentive? Although we think the per pt. discount is a good one. Or, should we take another plunge now? HELP!!! :rotfl: We don't know if the incentives will get better or worse from this point on??

I can't speak for your finances, but I have bought contracts, in the past from the Resale Market, with triple points. These are pretty good incentives. I would think that in the future, those will be available for the resort, that you are wanting to buy at again. Just something to think about. The incentives right now, do look pretty good, but only you know your financial status for the future.

I say buy you add on when the time is right for you and the incentive seems to excite you. Truthfully, incentives come and go and some don't seem that good to me but excite others so much they can't stand it.

If this incentive 'deal' seems to really excite you then grab the points now and bank them if necessary.

Best thing is to never experience buyers regret but I am sure others on the boards will give you different advice.

The best to you and your decision!!!

If you take the plunge now, rather than in june, you can get an extra years worth of points. For example, lets say your use year is Feb. Buy now, and you'll get Feb 2009 to Feb 2010 points to use. If you don't buy until June 2010, then your points would start Feb 2010-Feb 2011. You could then bank your 2009 points in to 2010. Or you can rent them out and use it to help pay for it.

Plus you can't book points you haven't purchased yet at the 11 month window. So if you wait until 6 months before you travel to buy them, BLT might be all booked up.

I'd wait but not due to incentives. I'd wait to see if another property comes along (Poly, GF) or I'd look at a resale at AKV or SSR, esp SSR. Or you could buy now but a few less points and with banking going forward, make less do the same job that more would do next year.

POLY....GF......:cloud9: Seriously Dean, do you have some insider info.? I've heard the rumblings before but it sounds like you really think it may happen? That WOULD be a reason for us to hold off.

Nothing inside, sorry. However, I think there have been some more credible rumors lately for both, esp GF. My point was if you don't need to buy now and are thinking a year or more in the future, one of the options is to wait and see if anything is happening. As a min you might get to see the HI offering. Then IF there are things in the works when the time comes, you might potentially have different choices than today. IMO, it really makes no sense in todays market to buy a huge chunk of points through DVC unless you want that resort almost all the time OR you want something you can't get any other way like a GV. Lets say you wanted 500 points right now and wanted a 2 BR MK view for a week EOY during Magic Season. I'd likely buy about 250 SSR points resale and then around 250 BLT points as add ons in increments of 100-100-50 or similar. If I were more adventuresome, I might even buy 350-400 SSR points (hopefully in 2 contracts) plus maybe 150 BLT points and go for just weekdays for the week then try to add the weekends at BLT using the SSR points.

Or more likely in my case, just buy a small BLT contract and then get RCI points and trade in. There are currently almost 200 DVC weeks sitting in RCI for the next 11 months and most are 1 & 2 BR units.
