What would you do...need some thoughts ASAP

The past few years we have gone to HHI with friends and stayed in a 2BR the week before Easter. We do the overnight drive Friday night and stay in a studio on Saturday before they join us and we move to 2BR. This year, we had no luck getting the 2BR so we have decided to continue the drive down to OKW.

As of right now, we still have the HHI studio booked and were going to keep our plan of leaving Friday night and driving overnight and making that our place to stop and still get to enjoy HHI for a night and finishing up to OKW Sunday morning.

Now I have been thinking...it is almost an hour off 95 to get to HHI and then we would have the same thing the next morning. So that got me wondering if we should just stay on the road straight to OKW and get there Saturday night. We have lucked out in the past that our room was ready at 9am on Saturday at HHI but what if we don't have a room for several hours? By the time we get a room, we could quite possibly be at OKW.

So...what would you do? Skip HHI and go straight to OKW or stop for the night. We are careful as far as driving. My DH takes off Friday and sleeps and drives until we get in NC while I sleep and I normally take over and finish up. The last time we drove to WDW we stopped in Georgia for a little bit for us to both just relax until DS (4 at the time) woke up and we finished up our drive and got to Pop Century by 11am (we left PA at 4pm Friday).

I am sorry you couldn't get your 2 br. I would just go to OKW vs. HHI this trip. It sounds like you won't spend much time at HHI anyway. That is what I would do. Good Luck.

I would go straight to OKW.
HHI is to far out of the way if you are only there to sleep.

I would stay on I-95 if I got tired. HHI is a ways to go if not needed to. Sorry about your plans having to change. Good luck with your trip.

If you need a place to stop for the night, we've stayed at a very nice Comfort Suites (all suites, 2 queen beds & a sofa sleeper. microwave & mini fridge in room). It's at Exit 94 on I-95 near Savannah. We sometimes leave Disney very late on our checkout day and stop here on our way home. On our way down, we drive all the way down on Saturday and stay in Altamonte Springs at the Embassy Suites or this last time we stayed in Lake Buena Vista at the Buena Vista Suites; and then we check in to our DVC resort by 9am on Sunday morning

I agree with everyone here, just head to OKW. We used to drive, but we would usually stopped along the way and we tended to look for Hampton Inns. We almost always had good luck there, except once the place was run down but the room was clean. Plus they have a free continental breakfast in the morning. Just in case you decide to rest.

Thanks for the replies! We decided to cancel HHI and stay on the road to OKW. While we would love to go, it is only for one night and our luck there would be great activities on Sunday that we would want to do but couldn't. My fingers are crossed that we will have better luck next year.
