What would you do if you won the Lotto?

1. Buy a bigger house-4 bedrooms instead of the 3 we have now.

2. Donate money to the American Cancer Society in honor of my Mom

3. Give money to my brothers, DH's brothers and my Dad--his Dad doesn't need our money-he doesn't spend what he has now. LOL

4. College funds for the kids

5. Pay off DH's student loan

6. Pay off my best friend's student loans

7. Go on a cruise

8. Invest the rest and live much like I do now, just with no money worries and lots more fun shopping.;)

9. DH would quit his job..and "work" full time as a firefighter--by work- he would volunteer full time instead of like he does now which is volunteer whenever he's not at work. LOL

As well as DW and I have gotten along.....for the past 3 or 4 years I have told her that if we ever won the lottery that she could have 80% of the winnings and I would move out.
Thinking behind the "80%" figure.
First, she would want 1/2 for her.
Then, she would want 1/2 of my 1/2 for DS3.75 and DS6.
80% gives her no right to complain.

The 80% would be based on the agreement that she never ask me for another dime. Granted, I would spend some of my 20% voluntarily on my DS's, but then it would be my choice.

With the last 20%, I would pay off debts and find a comfortable house within a few miles of where ever "DW" decides to move (so I can be involved in the DS's lives).

::yes::

You betcha, Denae! That's the nice thing about imaginary money--no budgeting!

I would pay off what little debt we had left. I would buy, excuse me, build a real house with all the toys and get new vehicles.

I would treat my family (close ones that are around even though we are poor now :) lol) to a trip to Disney.
Go visit other places that I want to see.

Stuff like that

1. Give to my church
2. Fertility doctor!
3. Pay off debt
4. New, bigger but not huge, house with lots of land
5. New cars, nothing extravagant (we are outgrowing ours)
6. Pay off my families' houses
7. Travel, travel, travel
8. Dh quit job so he can write like he has always dreamed of

I'm sure there is more, but that is what pops in mind right now.

OOh.. I like this one..

1- change all phone numbers
2- pay off all current outstanding debt
3- sell my house (let someone else fix it up)
4- build a new house
5- hire my dad on as financial advisor (he retires next year anyway)
6- set up trust funds for my and my sister's kids
7- whatever else strikes my fancy. ;)

As soon as I found out we'd won, DH and I would escape to Newport, RI for a month or so while we decided what to do next. We'd have to rent a house so our dog, Riley, could come along. Pay for everything with American Express until we collect the money.

Pay off all our debt as well as that of my extended family and friends.

Make sure my parents didn't have to work ever again. Convince them to move to someplace warm and enjoy themselves.

Travel for the first year. Disney, cruises, etc.

Move to Jamaica or Grand Cayman and maybe open a bar for locals/tourists.

:sunny:

Charities... American Cancer Society, Humane Society.

All in all, enjoy our life!

1. Call my Mom and Dad and tell them their money problems are over!
2. Call my friend who is a financial planner and have her help us out with that aspect

Then we would be paying off all our debt, building a nice house for us, buying new cars for ourselves (we don't own one right now), putting a lot of money away for school for the kids, put money aside for their weddings, give lots to my parents, in-laws, and siblings, good amounts to charities, savings accounts and some investing. Probally a lot more, but this is what comes to mind.

I would buy all my friends and family a new car. Actually, I have a standing list of what kind everyone wants (except SO - he wants a Harley, so a Harley he shall have!) This is the first thing I would do because it just seems like it would be so much fun for everyone!

Then, pay off everyone's mortgages, establish HUGE college funds for my two nephews, and build a house by my brother for my mom so she can go whenever she wants and not have to be so far away from the grandkids all the time.

Quit my job, buy a diner, and serve coffee and pie everyday.

I'd also finally get my Italian honeymoon...I'm not married any more, but that doesn't mean I can't have it, does it?!?!?:teeth:

1. Hire a lawyer
2. Change my phone number
3. pay off all my debts
4. Pay off all my MIL medical debts
5. Buy IL's a house
6. Give my parents some because they have always helped me.
7. Buy a house in Virginia Beach
8. Buy a beach condo in St. Augustine
9. Go to O-Town several times a year.
10 Set up trust funds for my twins
11. Buy my friends Kim and Jamie a house

This is fun! I would:

1. Repair this house just so it's finally done and sell it. Then I'd buy a bigger house with some land around it.

2. Buy a small Victorian in Eureka Springs for vacations.

3. Completely fix up my car and buy a small SUV and a truck for DH.

4. Start some kind of animal shelter. It's always bothered me that adoption costs are so expensive in our area while so many animals are being put to sleep. I'd have lower cost fees depending on income and also help out with vet bills as needed. I would love for those on fixed incomes and the like to be able to enjoy a pet!

5. Travel to all of those wonderful places that I've only dreamed about.

6. Of course pay off all debt and help my brother and a few friends too.

7. Donate money to a few favorite charities and help some people restore an old hotel in west Texas.

Well, I'm off to buy my Lotto tickets. If y'all don't hear from me for awhile, you'll know why!

(I'll be changing my phone number, etc!)

If I won I would....

Buy a piece of land, maybe a lot of beach front or closer to WDW between Melbourne and Orlando with about 10+ acres.
So all of my close family could live near each other, At one point we all lived withen 3 miles of each other a few years back, so I'd like this again. I'd build everyone the type of houses they needed (smaller but nice one for my grandparents, 4 bedroom for my mom, 2 bedroom for his parents, 3 bedroom for his sister, etc) Just the immediate family. Everyone would get a car, this is an inside joke, as I've had NO LUCK with cars and I've borrowed every and anyone's car so I'd like to "repay" the favor. Of course I furnish the houses. I figured thats about 3 million or so, for six houses on the land. Then I'd build mine, something like this, multi-floor, if we lived near water then LOTS of windows I love the house when you look through the front you can see all the way to the back where the ocean/river/lake is. Furnish it however I wanted, with a WDW room of course, new computers, etc.. and a HUGE swimming pool. Ok so thats another 3-4 mil easy. Wow, I'd still have around 150 mil left (figured they take about 1/2 in taxes).
I'd buy DVC, AP's for everyone I knew. Take long enjoyable worry free vacations, maybe a home in St. Thomas too.
Donate to the local special education school here. Buy the girls anything they could ever dream of, including a house for them and their father and a car for him, education funds for them and him and for my brother and sister.
I would do back to school for Nursing and would do volunteer work with NICU or PICU patients.

Hum, what else?

I'd look into working with a group to help homeless families get the help they need to have a fresh start. I'd also donate to Rescue Mission, Salvation Army and a couple other charities.

I have always wanted to take a Steamboat Cruise on the Mississippi River. I would invite my favorite people along.

Traveling would be nice--

I'd move---

I've been dreaming about this all day!

1. I would take our 50 closest family members and friends on a 7-day Disney cruise plus a week at the Polynesian.

2. I would give gifts of cash with the caveat that they ask for no more--I do not intend to be an ongoing source of cash or enable irresponsible behavior (let's face it, every family has a few deadbeats).

3. I would build my dream home on a few acres somewhere closer to WDW, and give our parents & sibs the option of having us build a home for them in the same area.

4. I would hire a personal chef and trainer.

5. I would give to a few of our favorite causes, especially the Trenton soup kitchen.

6. Relax, travel and enjoy our family and friends.

7. Make a difference when I see a situation or cause in the news that speaks to me.

DH and I talk about this all the time. He claims he's going to hit the jackpot before he turns 40, which is in about 5 months.

1. Get a lawyer/financial planner to figure out a way to take care of DH's sons, but keep his ex out of the money.
2. Have same advisors plan a way to keep us financially sound for life, even with DH's crazy spending.
3. Pay off all outstanding debt.
4. Pay off debts for parents, siblings and our best friends.
5. Buy new vehicles for each other (more fun than buying for ourselves).
6. Buy a new home, probably in the same area. No having one built...we won't be there that much.
7. Donate to charities as desired.
8. Travel the world! And to "the World!" With any friends/family who want to tag along.

Oh yeah, did I mention, quit jobs? I think I would do volunteer work when we're home, in an animal shelter probably. Just to keep myself from feeling like a spoiled socialite with nothing except money to contribute to the world.
And...
9. After we have travelled enough for a while, adopt some children.

Quit my job, to do it I would run around the office naked. :earseek: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: Scary thought I know. But then I'd pay off all of my bills, student loans, credit card bills and such, and then buy a brand new car. I would then pay for a really nice honeymoon for me and my fiancee. That's what I'd do.

If I could manage to do all of this, this is exactly what I would do, in this order:

1.) Hire a lawyer/financial advisor to make some wise decisions for me because I am totally stoopid about money.
2.) Buy a brand new car for me, my mom, my boyfriend, my nieces, and anyone else I know who needs one.
3.) Give this house away -- it's paid off, so I would hold some type of lottery for the needy and whoever won I would sell this home to them for a buck.
4.) Buy a new home around my mother's church.
5.) Pay off all the debt I have and the debt of as many family members and friends as I could.
6.) Buy a hotel or motel on the beach in Wildwood Crest, decorate to my tastes and use that as my source of income. Then that frees me up from January to April to go to WDW! :p
7.) Go down to the county tax office and see which houses were up for sale and anonymously pay off the taxes of as many as I could so their houses wouldn't be sold out from underneath them, I'd do that on a yearly basis if I could.
8.) Buy a fully restored, 1965 Good Humor truck, stock it with ice cream, then drive around and pass out free ice cream.
9.) Donate tons of money to no kill shelters and regular shelters to help the animals live a little longer to find another home.
10.) Buy air conditioners and give x amount of money to the electric company for senior citizens who do without because of limited incomes, same with heat for low income families in the winter.
11.) Go to WDW a bazillion times and take anyone of my friends or family who wanted to go, with me. I would also take children who may never get there otherwise.
12.) Travel - defintely hit all the Caribbean Islands, Tahiti, Belize.
13.) Buy Donald Trump a haircut and style! :teeth:

I would definately share the wealth.

Pay off all the bills.

Fix my house up the way I would like and all at one time, not piece by piece like I have to do now.

Help out my sisters and nephews and 1 niece.

take a trip

I don't think I'd quit my job...but maybe go to part time.

BUT i'm not sure I would even want the whole thing...I'd be happy with a portion of it. 290 is a bit much...1 million would be fine!
:teeth: :teeth: :teeth:
