So I thought I was done with my ADR's but now I am rethinking them of course lol. Our party consists of myself, DH, DD (5) and DS (will be almost 21 months old when we travel). Our flight gets in at 4:15pm and we are renting a car then checking into the Dolphin. The kids are going to be starving so we made a reservation at Epcot's Akershus for dinner at 6:55pm. However, I like to schedule reservations according to park hours and extra magic hours. And so I found that MK is open until 1:30am that night. I was thinking about making a dining reservation close to MK for this reason. There is availability at 1900 Park Fare for dinner at 7:20pm. Then we could go to MK after. But then I would have to change our 1900 Park Fare breakfast reservation for a breakfast at Akershsus because DD will be so mad if she does not eat there. We have never eaten at Akershus for dinner but rather always for breakfast. And we have never eaten at 1900 Park Fare for breakfast(I know the characters are different) but rather only dinner.

Now having said that, should I just keep things as is considering that I have an ADR at CRT the next morning 12/24 at 10:05am? If we stay out too late at MK the night before, then the kids might not want to get up. And maybe I should just call it an early night for 12/23 so that we can get up early and be at rope drop at MK on 12/24? What would you do?

Personally, I would not schedule an ADR for the night you are getting in. Anything could happen (flight delays, long wait for the car, traffic, etc) and you could be running late or the kids might be overwhelmed. I would check in, then go enjoy MK that night and do a QS for dinner, keep your other reservations the same and schedule Akershus for another day/time.

I don't schedule anything with a CC guarantee for the first night - just too many variables that could mess up the plans. While I haven't done dinner at Akershus, I have done breakfast and lunch and far preferred breakfast.

I would plan something low-key for that first night. For us, travel day is tiring and it makes for a much more pleasant first full day following if we lay low a bit. Good luck!:goodvibes

We always do a character meal our first night to get the vacation started but skip the parks. It's a long day especially for the little ones and you don't want them to start out tired. So I would suggest 1900 Park Faire, then since it is Christmas, take a monorail ride to each of the hotels and check out the decorations then back to your hotel for a good nights sleep.

I would rethink an ADR and late hours in a park on my arrival day. You are not even scheduled to arrive at MCO until 4:15 and still need to navigate the baggage area and rent your vehicle and then get to the resort. I think that you may be setting yourself up for a huge disappointment if you head into MK that first night, if the kids are tired who knows how they will be.

If it was me would not schedule an ADR that needs to be secured with a CC on an arrival night. I would plan on relaxing at the resort and then an early start the next day.
