Here is the story...We usually fly out Christmas Day so I am used to the craze of booking as soon as SW calendar comes out. We either fly out of Hartford or Providence. This year however, we leave for WDW on the 29th of December. SW does not have their calendar out for 2 more weeks. Jet Blue does have their calendar out until 1/3.

We need 8 tickets--5 together, and 3 singles, just in case 20 something kids are unable to go. Jet Blue has a 1 way for 139 for that day. It has been like that for 2 weeks--I have been watching! Do I book now and wait to see if they come down and get a credit or wait for SW to come out in 2 weeks? Does anyone have any experience with this time frame. Again, I am used to being on the computer and getting a bit better than this for 1 way on Christmas Day.

Thansk so mcuh in advance for any suggestions or help you can provide!:goodvibes

I'm not sure you can compare rates this year to last year. I'm seeing rates that are 50% - 90% higher than last year! My rule is: if I see a rate I can live with, I book it.

With buying so many seats I wouldn't be surprised if you can only get a few seats at the lowest rate as well. So, somthing to keep in mind.

Does Jetblue fly out of Providence now?

I would pick any random date and compare JetBlue and SW prices; if they are close then chances are SW will be close to Jetblue for 12/29. Two weeks isn't going to kill you, so I would just wait.
