What would you change about WDW if you had the chance

I'd freshen up Space Mountain a bit, but in no way change the theming.

I'd get rid of Stitch, that ride is so hated. I might not put anything back there, I think that building is cursed!

Make the Indy Speedway cars bigger so people could fit in them easier, and make the track more flowy. But NO, I would not not not change it to a Cars theme. I'd make a new ride for that.

A Peter Pan-esque ride for Alladin.

Change the DDP back to it's orginal appetizer, entree, dessert.

But truthfully, and I'm saying this with 100% honesty, I wouldn't mind if they didn't change anything. I'm so in love with WDW I couldn't care. I'm sure other posters would agree with me.

What would change about WDW if you had the chance

The things I would change would be the idea of only using the fastpasses once.

Another thing that I would change is that everyone should get at least one year of a million dreams prize. And to keep the year of a million dreams keep going on ever year.:goodvibes

The only thing I would change is that ages for restaurants and DDP...I think it should be 12 and under...I don't know about anyone else but I know that there is no way my 10 year old could eat as much as an adult so why pay the price of an adult...I could only wish though...also I would get rid of the Stitch ride in MK...having a pirate themed restaurant in adventureland would be awesome near POC ride...

2 things, actually.

I would change the darn COFFEE!!!

and I would add a Value resort that would allow parties of 5. I don't even care if it is a LITTLE more than a normal Value, but not as much as a moderate. I like to go to WDW as cheaply as I can most times. Also, even at home, sometimes my 3 girls sleep in the bed. They are small and they like to be near each other. I know I could fit them in one bed at a value! But, I know, I know...fire regulations and all that, bla bla.
Or why can't they offer a little cot for an extra kid in a value? Like not a full size cot, but a small one. My 4yo is still in a toddler bed so she is used to tiny beds and I know you can fit a pack n play in a value...so why not a small cot for those with 3 small children?

Oh well. One can dream.

I have just noticed that you are from ma I am too! What city do you live in ?

I'd change the coffee and cover the parks in giant domes and air condition them. OK, except maybe parts of DAK b/c of the animals, but I'd still cover sections of that park.

You would think Disney and Starbucks could come up with something :teacher: to make $$$ for both companies.

*breaks out into song* These are a few of my favorite things! I can't really think of anything that I would want to change, well maybe getting rid of the Stitch ride, that was a waste.

Starbucks has locations at Universal and CityWalk as well as my workplace (ORMC). I would imagine Disney doesn't want to pay any kind of franchising or licensing fee to Starbucks...just a guess though. :confused3

I'd start by putting the original "Journey into Imagination" back in at Epcot. The new version is absolutely terrible, even after adding Figment back in!

Well it certainly would be nice to make it more affordable--but that's never gonna happen! We always stay at values because we're at the parks just about all the time and I can't justify the extra money for a mod--never mind a deluxe. Someone else mentioned making FP just for on-site guests--that sounds good. Wasn't FP originally like that? And bring back the former DDP. That was great IMO.

WDW General
-Vote for Universal Refillable mugs!!!!!!!:thumbsup2 They could be sold at the TTA. I'd pay $20 bucks for the mug and $1 for refills. Can you imagine how much more convenient that would be? They could be themed per season or year.
-Add more characters in varieties and quantities.
-Cleaner bathrooms. I think if CMs were posted to bathrooms for more time, less mess would accumulate.
-Filter water fountains better
-More buses.
-Add free trivia and scavenger hunts to all parks like MK does for APholders.
-Transportation: They should build a African type train, like the one already at AK, to take you from the TTA to the AK. Tour buses that take you to DHS and have soundtracks to give you speils like that of the monorail.
-Major TLC to the Monorails. They need a upholstery facelift (new carpeting and recover the seats), clean all vinyl and plastic siding, and have windows and handles cleans, and trash removed several times a day. They should install small TVs in each car demonstrating new rides, parades and events (NOT THE LADY FROM THE RESORT TVS!!!!!:scared1: ). And add a few more trains to the team for better wait times in heavy times of the day to MK.

MK
-Redo Indy making cars battery run or even solar powered, or both. Lord knows, WDW has enough sun!
-SKYWAY!!! Enough said :thumbsup2
-Make Stitch a Meet and Greet area for Meet the Robinsons, Buzz, and other futuristic characters.
-Remove Flying Carpets and between the treehouse and CP, make a Aladdin ride. Could be same type ride as Star Tours, with Aladdin leaving Temple of Doom
-Get rid of Country Bears and make something to honor Woody, he was just as much a star of TS.
-Redo treehouse for Tarzan or George
-Theme Tom's Islands for holidays
-Don's Boat needs a paintjob
-Set up Mickey and Minnies house more like a play set for kids, they get too bored. This should be exciting
-Loved the little buildings before Toontown, bring them back in a few spots
-Open back up the Sword and the Stone
-The Castle. You look at this gigantic building and think it's incredible. But what I want to know is, yes there is a restaurant and now a suite. But there needs to be something else. The castle in DL has the dungeon with Malificent (not sure if still opened or closed), why not here? I am not sure what you could add, but I'm sure they could do a walkthrough going from her bedroom, to the kitchen, to the ball. It's so magnificent yet so boring. I've always wanted to explore the castle, but the CRT doesn't quench me.

EPCOT
-Kill Honey I Shurnk the Audience and make it to have some sort of season changing 3D movie. Maybe themed to new movies or HEY Great Idea, show a collage of Walt's old Disneyland shows, afterall they were from Imagination!!!!
-Improve Test Track so there are less stops. I've taken DH on twice and stopped at least 3 times each!! Made us miss IllumiNations, even though we boarded the car at 8:30!
-Germany was built to house a ride. Build it!!!!!
-Morocco has alot of space behind. Some kind of attraction would be nice.
-There is alot of grassy area behind the Outpost. They need to put a wall around the Outpost and create a Africa Pavilion there. They could have a Rainforest walkthrough like at Canada, a Maestrom type ride traveling throught the different areas of Africa. They could have a dessert themed playground for the kids, like the boneyard at AK. But not natural aspects, cultural aspects so it differs than AK.
-Redo Odyessey and make it into a South American Pavilion.
-Make the Wonders of Life building a exhibit on business and economy.
-Tear down the Millenium building and build a Aussie Pavilion there as to not disrupt IllumiNations.
-China's always seemed to be missing something. A walkthrough exhibit would be good.

DHS
-Have a Hannah Montana thing for kids, not the concert, but with Oliver and everyone, like the show. My niece was disappointed the concert wasn't really like the show (she's 6).
-Redesign Indiana Jones for the new movie!!!!
-Kill Sounds Dangerous, turn lights down and put in beds and no one would notice the difference
-Update Star Tours, make it a new scene of the movies and change the character and storyline. No one rides it anymore due to lack of interest. I have ridden once in 3yrs and still know every turn.
-Redo GMR, maybe keep the same movies, but update and make it more entertaining. Ride does nothing for the movies.
-Get rid of the tacky hat? Why is it there anyways to hide the theatre? Plant trees, better for the environment and to look at.
-Take out the bleacher seats at Fantasmic and add stadium chairs. The pull-down plastic seats. Have CMs seat guests like at the Parking lot (one row at a time all the way down)

AK
-Redo Chester and Hester and they should be free. We pay enough to get in. Or make it quarter run like the shooting gallery in Mk :thumbsup2
-Wildlife maps should be given to every guest. Telling you what animal you will see where. All those nature trails would attract so many more people if they knew what to look for
-Reopen Journey to the Jungle Book

Disney Weddings
-Make MK more available.
-Offer a Wishes party at the Train Station, outside eating areas facing the Castle and the Swan Boat landing.
-Packages for limo and bus, and a 5 hour standard for a better time.
-Better priced entertainment. $1500 for a DJ?!
-CD only photo package
-FL Res Discount
-Buy dresses and suits like in Japan
-Many more location options.
-Consistency. When a WP tells someone yes then the next no.
-Better food options
-Better times for MK Photo Shoot, maybe after cloing and more time and location choices 3 places pre-determined and set-in-stone of your choice

WWS
There needs to be an exhibit where guys (and girls) can go to play sports. I remember watching something with N Sync playing with training equipment as an exhibit, but I dont reemember seeing it. It's not different than a sports park. Let the guys play!

I know I'll think of more choices

I want to see more Muppets at the studios. They really deserve their own 'land' there instead of just one attraction. I think for me (and many other 30 somethings), Jim Henson is our Walt Disney.

COFFEE.........yuck!!!! I agree with so many of you. How can they not figure out that this is a very important part of Americana?? :surfweb: (Also, they should make those cappuccino stands included on the DDP.)

DDP---change it back! It was perfect the way it was last year. Yes, we got bad service in a few places, but I would take that any day over what we're getting this year.

DDP---Also change age limitations. There is no 10-14 year old out there who can eat as much as a 25 year old man!

Chester & Hester carnival area--this is just so tacky. Everytime my family walks through there, DS & DD want to play. We don't let them, because we pay an arm & a leg for tickets/rooms/DDP....if I wanted to go to a cheap carnival, I'd save us several thousands of dollars & a few thousand miles, and just go to the county fair.

Every family who stays in a resort should get a free 8x10 from their photopass....we'd probably spend more $$ this way, because it'd get us in the store!

I agree---Fast Passes should only be given to resort guests.

Open parks earlier in general. It is so hot when we go (in summer) that it'd be nice to get a really early start to the day, head to resort for an afternoon nap, and come back after it cools off.

Disney Vacation Club--This isn't really about the parks/rides/restaurants, but about the DVC. We would love to join, but the outrageous yearly dues are the ONLY thing that's keeping us from it. Yes, I know that you're "locking in" today's rates for the next 48 years or so, but by the time we paid for the yearly dues, we could've paid for our park tickets & DDP. Anyway, I could go on FOREVER, but those maintenance dues really break the deal for us.

Hmmm... I think having the FPs available to all guests on or offsite is a wonderful advantage disney has over universal, but this is a good point. Perhaps your roomkey could override the system so you have 1 instant fastpass per ride per person with a valid ticket/roomkey. this includes even times the fastpasses have "sold out"

LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's a great idea! :thumbsup2

I would love it if you could buy an all-day FastPass. It would make things so much easier--they could have a limit on how many they sold, so the FP line wouldn't get too long. I would buy one!

I would also change something about the transportation issue--I would rather walk a little longer to stand in line if the buses were coming much quicker. They need to space apart the resort areas in the bus stops--that way more buses could come.

My turn for adding two cents:

-I too second or third the motion of a universal refillable cup you could purchase and use in all parks including both BB and TL.

-Dining plan that could be purchased by the day for guest not staying on property.

-Add another country in the World Showcase in Epcot like Ireland or Greece.

-More misting fans while standing in line for attractions.

-AK to stay open on a daily basis til 7pm. Not too late, cuz I realize the animals have to be taken care of too

-Hannah Montana meet and greet in MK and DHS so my kids(and maybe their mom, lol) who love her can get a chance to have their picture taken with her.

-reduced ticket option for those who arrive after say 3pm.

-more affordable options for resort rooms with family's four and more; some people like to have their own space without feeling like their on top of each other.
Toya

I would change the Carousel of Progress back to the version that Walt created for the Worlds Fair. I still can't believe they "updated" something so original and nostalgic. They could have just built a second "Carousel" if they wanted to update things. I wouldn't have the nerve to alter anything that Walt Disney created.

And one major thing I wish they would do is to sell quality DVD memories of old rides and attractions that are no longer around. Like, have a complete ride-through, showing all the little details, a walk-through of the queue, having guests and CMs talk about their memories of the attraction, etc. SO many people would buy those! I just don't get why Disney doesn't sell things like that.

And current rides too.

I ride a wheelchair and can't transfer to most rides. I have never ridden Splash Mountain, Tof T, Rock n Roller Coaster, Expedition Everest, Test Track, Dinasaur, Soarin'. Others, like Haunted Mansion, Space Mountain and Spaceship Earth, I haven't ridden for 20 years.

There's a limit to how many times you can ride Carrousel of Progress, Ellen's Universe of Energy and the MK railroad!!

... and I don't get a discount on park admission either.
