We're looking for a nice hotel to stop at for a few hours since we've decided to drive. Would like to keep the cost under $100.00.
Thanks!

I'm from southern NJ - and we usually make it to Santee SC. There are lots of hotels and you don't feel like you are really pushing it to get there. Have a great trip!

Thanks southjerseymom, not sure if we're going to go that far the first day or not. For us that would be about 11 1/2 hours-but at least if we did that, the next day would be a short trip!
Anyone else?

We drove years ago from Monmouth County NJ and we stayed in Fayettville, NC. Not sure if it was quite halfway or not, but it was a good stopping point for us.

We've driven a couple of times and made it to florence, sc. We saw santee also but alsways stayed at florence. It seems clean and safe. The holiday inn express were clean safe and had a quick breakfast bar.

Hi..... In three weeks we will be making our 4th trip by car to Orlando from South Jersey. North or South Carolina would be the place to stay, depending on how far you are willing to drive before stopping. This site has a great section that lists all the exit numbers with the available lodging and dining options. Go to the transportation section from the main page and then scroll down to I-95 exit info. It also gives you tips on which states have cheaper gas prices, how many miles you will travel in each state and where nice rest areas/Welcome Centers are.

Have fun.... bring snacks and activities along and enjoy your ride....

PS binigrl417... I was born in Belleville.... right at Clara Mass

We have driven twice from Cranford NJ (Union County) and we made it to North Carolina and then stopped for the night. Fayetteville, NC is about half way for us.

We've driven a couple of times and always stop in Florence-that is about 11 hours(and honestly we could go a couple hours more, the 11 hours isn't bad at all, much to my surprise).
The next day it's a 6 hour drive to WDW.
