What will happen when CCV becomes available to book?

As others have echoed, it's usually easier to get in at first. Poly was WIDE open for awhile, but they also have tons of studios.

I do think CCV are going to be hard to score with so few studios. VGF are very hard to get into now at the 11 month window at peak times, I cannot imagine how hard this will be. Not that we were considering buying, but that is a dealbreaker. If you see availability, I'd jump on it while you can. Overall, VGF and CCV studios are going to be the hardest to get at 7 months.

Edited to add: I hope people who are buying CCV and intend to stay at villas are really looking hard at the 3 initially declared and only 13 total studios. The 11 month window is going to be hard all year round. Anyone buying 25-50 points for villas stays is going to be very, very disappointed (sometimes us VGF owners feel that way with 47 dedicated studios!)

At this time it's being estimated that CCV will have 46 studios, not 13. And there's still a few "missing" rooms from that estimate. It's also not certain if all the floors will have the same layout as those declared so it might be modified a bit more. The 13 are the estimated dedicated studios but there are studios in every 2br lock off to add to the studio count. At VGF there are zero dedicated studios, all 47 are from the 2 br Lockoffs.

I must admit I'm confused by DVCs decisions on their room allocations though. They went too far with PVB but historically they have done too few studios in resorts and CCV seems to pretty closely follow the allocation percentages of the older resorts. On the other hand with the point charts following VWL the requirements of the 1 and 2 bedrooms are not as crazy as the most recent resorts so larger families may look at it as a way to have a new resort and get the larger villas. In theory DVC should want everything to book up evenly and it doesn't.

Great information, I was wonder why I kept seeing 13. That seems too low. So it's 13 dedicated, with a possibility of 46 in total. That makes more sense! I'm with you though, it is like they are overcompensating for Poly's large amount of studios. I wonder if people say "we will book studios" then DVC will steer them towards buying at poly, and if a family says "we book 1 bedrooms and up" the guides will steer them towards CCV? Potentially balancing things out (sale-wise only obviously).

Probably because I referenced 13 -- there are more total studios than 13, but initially, only 13 dedicated studios will be bookable on points. Since all rooms do not become bookable on points at the start, I was saying that I think those that are will book quickly through marathon.

I wonder how the distribution of different villas is at CCV in comparison to BRV. Perhaps there are enough studios available at BRV that it can serve at a good alternative for those shut out at CCV. Maybe the distribution at CCV is intended to complement what's available at BRV?

They really don't have anything to do with one another. The two resorts stand alone. There are more rooms at CCV versus BRV (VWL). The number of studios are really dependent at both resorts based on the number of lock off 2BRS combined with the dedicated studios which are based on the shape of each resort. DVC really tries to have mainly 2BRs either dedicated or lockoffs. The odd rooms become dedicated villas.

In my experience with the new resorts they have not booked up fast and it's been an easier time for availability. Will Thanksgiving itself or the first week of December be easy? That's more difficult to say but my first 2 VGF reservations were first week of December using non-VGF points.
Wow how did you get that? I thought it was the hardest time to get at 7 months.

I'm hoping to switch my current reservation to a studio at Copper Creek for December and cross my fingers I have good luck and will be able to book it. - Would definitely like to check out this new resort!

Time will tell. LOL.

I had similar experiences booking VGF and Poly when they first opened. Easy seven month reservations, but we were traveling in July which is lower DVC season. I'm hoping to change either my October or January reservations to CC. I think January will be easier for me to get.

I'm also secretly hoping that someone with a beach club reservation will switch to CC and I can pounce on their reservation and finally try out that resort. I can dream right?

I have BCV for end of october -- but I ain't switching!!! :-)

Who will attempt to move existing reservations within the next seven months to CCV when bookings initially open?

As I mentioned, I want to move a 1 bedroom weekend trip in December from VWL to CC however if I can get some friends to join us, I will book a cabin!

I will because it is less points than my current reservation for 2 studios at the Poly. We do not normally need 2 studios but this trip I am bringing family to help with the kids because DH can't come, and as much as I love my Poly home resort, for less points CCV would be just fine!

I might attempt...but after seeing more pictures I think might keep my current reservation lol. I dont know...the rooms don't really interest me. But thats my opinion of course :)

BTW - there are new numbers popping up for rooms coming from a post of what the POS says. It seems to indicate that there would be up to a total of 78 studios. Exact configuration is reported to be:

42 dedicated studios
20 dedicated 1BR's
36 2BR lock-offs
56 dedicated 2BR's
4 GV's
26 Cabins

That reminds me-when BCV first opened, I was able to get reservations there about 4 months out.

I wonder how hard the GVs and cabins will be to book at 7 months. I'm guessing the cabins will be possible much of the year, given the cost, but with only 4 GVs, how much chance do you think a non-owner will have for one of those? Does any other DVC resort have so few grand villas?

VGC only has 2 GV's. VGF has 6 and BWV has 7. I've seen availability at VGF a lot of times at 7 months. BWV is more difficult but the point requirements for those are less than VGF or than CCV will be.

To EPCOT? Take the boat to the Contemporary, then hop on the Monorail. We try to avoid the busses as much as possible for the MK Loop and EPCOT. Love the boat rides! (Less Hub Bub)

That's a boat and two monorails.

You will likely never beat a bus going that route.

If headed to World Showcase, you could boat to MK and take a bus to Beach Club and walk into the back entrance. Direct bus maybe is easier. I drive to the parks when I can.
