What will happen to Anastasia?

Now that Disney owns FOX what will they do with Anastasia? It and Beauty and the Beast are my favorite princess movies and I think it stacks up pretty well to the Disney princess movies. Right now it's on Hulu Premium even though it's a kid's movie. I suspect it's because they think it would be too confusing to put it on Disney +. While I don't think they'll make her a Disney princess I'd hate for her to be forgotten.

They really do need to at least add the Fox Animation movies and BlueSky stuff to Disney+ - there's some good stuff in there. Anastasia is great, but she doesn't have to be folded into the Disney Princess line or anything.

I agree that she doesn't need to become a Disney Princess but I'd like to see the movie promoted more and for there to be merchandising.

May possibly be one of the darkest subjects ever made into a animated movie. Although I suppose thats debatable. But that was a horrible period in history.

It's definitely some of the darkest actual history depicted in animation. There are some fantasy sequences that may be darker, but that doesn't usually have the same heft. It was really well done though, and still fun after the initial scene. Rasputin is a crazy good villain!

I forgot about those. They were awesome. I feel the movie is overlooked and would get a lot more love if it had been made by Disney.

It's a movie I find tasteless considering the subject and the fact that we know with absolute certainty that she was murdered alongside the rest of her family in 1917. To make a murder victim a 'Disney Princess' and produce merch is just a dreadful idea.

Keep in mind that we did not know conclusively back when this movie was made, hence the legend. It always seemed unlikely, but it can still be entertaining. The movie really isn't too close to reality, what with the talking bats and resurrected wizards and all. I would understand why they wouldn't necessarily want to promote it with too much merch and such.
