We decide to change our ressies from SSR to BWV or BCV for this coming Jan.

We have never changed ressies like this before. I think we will have to borrow a few more pts. which isnt a problem. Will it be more hassle than its worth? I know the phone call wont be so bad but just the shuffling of pts and changing of ressies, etc. is what concerns me a little.

I wouldn't worry in the slightest. Without question I would put up with some very minor inconveniences in order to get my first choice of accommodations.

I would say go for what you want most, Call and see if anything available, Only a month off it is probably booked up but it does not hurt to call. Hope you get what you want.

The beauty of DVC is that you can make changes. If the dates you want at BWV or BCV are available just tell MS you want to book those dates but have to cancel your current reservation to do it. If you are within 30 days of check-in, technically you're points will go into Holding. But, in this case, it doesn't matter since you are re-booking at less than 60 days.

If you were doing this within 30 days and the new reservation used LESS points than the original reservation, the extra points would go into Holding.

Called MS this morning. Nothing available at BCV. BWV all but 2 days on original ressie. Asked about VWL just to see. Nada.

Oh well, it was worth the try. We are still looking forward to SSR but just thought Jan being so slow might work for those harder to get ressies.

We were originally at SSR with a waitlist for VWL. The waitlist came through about a month ago for VWL. THEN a few weeks ago DH says he wishes we were staying at BWV. SO, I called and was put on a waitlist for this resort. I called last week to check on it since I told them to automatically change it without any further approval needed. We're in!

SO, we're on our THIRD resort option for our January (4 - 8) trip!

I say, GO FOR IT! Stay where you really want to stay. If it's available I don't think there is harm in switching. Not sure how far out you are from check-in, but try the waitlist if you really want a different resort. GOOD LUCK!

Couldn't you take the days they had available and waitlist the other two days? If you really want to try the BWV it might be worth it.
