I was graduating high school and starting college. DH was invading Panama at the beginning of the year and defending Kuwait by the end of it.
Edited to add that we met in between those two deployments while he was home on leave, but wouldn't get married for another 7 years.

I was in the 4th & 5th grades.

I was dealing with a lot of family issues which after MANY years have been resolved.

That was a long time ago, and I am so glad it's over. Anything after 1995 I can relate to. All of the things mentioned I think I was too young to remember.

I do remember New Kids on the Block though-LOL!

Looking at the thread -- it looks like 1971/72 was a busy year for a lot of people's folks!!

Hmmm...First of all, I think that popular music was on a downward spiral.

Mrs. AA (who at that time for Miss GF of AA) and I graduated college and were married in October.

I held out to get married in a year ending in a zero so it's easier to remember how long we've been married.
