What weird things do your pets do?

I have a yellow lab that will just sit anywhere, and not do anything. Like she will walk to my foyer and just sit. Or we find her in a hallway sitting. Just sitting. :rotfl:

We woke up to 15" of snow on Thursday. I had the lab out with me while I shoveled my driveway. Most of the time she was sitting in the driveway that I had cleared. I bet she sat for over an hour on the cold ground.

Nutty dog.

My cat Mystic who is 7 years old but looks like a kitten because she is so small loves to lick plastic bags. ;P

She also loves to lick your toes when you are in the bathroom, but will only lick your right foot. She is the cutest cat but not the brightest bulb. :P

She is a Steelers cat. All black with gold eyes. :)

GO STEELERS :)

When two of my family members hug, my 10-yr-old yellow lab tries to get in the middle of it by digging under the arms with his nose, it is the sweetest thing :) When we are near him and our hand is resting at our sides, he will dig under our hand with the muzzle and lift it up onto his head himself.

the dog 'talks' to us...growls, with a lifted snarly lip...tongue out slightly, fang showing.....she doesn't bite, just that face and that NOISY growl! when she was a puppy,I was a bit worried she was being mean, now we know she's just talking.when she's truly upset, like a stranger at the door, she barks-totally different sound.....
my cat comes when she's called...thinks she's a dog I guess, though my dog usually ignores me when I call her:rotfl:

My cousin's Rottie does this...It's pretty menacing...But they took Mister Clay(the dog) to the vet and here was the explaination.

The Dr. said that because my cousin, since Clay was a puppy, would play rough with him and then love on him, that the dog associates the growling noises with love.

Clay is so loud...all you have to do is call him over in a super sweet baby voice and he just lose it! He walks up all growling with his tail wagging trying to lick you.

he also will go into another room and just start meowing away at nothing in particular.

I remember reading once (I'm sure it's not true, but....) that cats can see ghosts, and if you get down behind them and look where they're looking right over their head (sort of looking in between their ears), you'll see what they're seeing.

My cat when I was growing up, often used to STARE at the top landing of the stairs sometimes for a while, for no reason. I was kinda scared to go look between her ears to see if she 'saw' something there. It did creep me out though when she did this, because it was... well, creepy!

Most of my animals do something quirky. We have two Yorkies (Jade and Isis). Jade fake "sneezes" to get your attention and play with her. Isis is the oldest, and if she thinks that you are paying too much attention to one of the other animals she will make herself gag. Then of course you look at her and say "Are you alright Bean?". Once she has your attention she is cured.

I have a Himalayan cat named Jasmine that is obsessed with mini blinds. She has ruined several sets over the years by licking them until they break.

Liam is my daughter's cat. He is obsessed with water. He cries outside the door if you are showering and won't let him in. He wants to play with the water while you brush your teeth, and most of all he wants to watch the toilet flush. We have one of those watering devices that looks like an office water bottle. It holds a lot of water and self-fills the bowl as they drink it. He absolutely would not leave it alone. He was spilling it all over the kitchen almost daily. I finally had to take the water bottle part off it. I hope as he matures he will leave it alone. Our other cat Hailey was obsessed with the container for awhile but got over it.

One of the dogs learned what "walk" meant and would run to the door and bark until you put his leash on. So, we started spelling it. Then he caught onto that. Now we have to just say "you know what" because as soon as he hears "W" he runs to the door and starts going crazy!

My other dog will randomly get "possessed" as I like to call it. She'll chase her tail really fast while making hilarious growling noises, then run REALLY fast back and forth from the bed to the couch! Sooo funny.

I had a dog who loved the ice maker/water dispenser on the refrigerator. He love to hold the button down and squirt water across the room. :confused3 He also like to turn light switches off and on.

We have one cat that will eat paper. She really ate my sons homework once (that was embarrassing to tell the teacher but it was the truth). She also drinks out of water glasses... she doesn't like the water bowl, she will search out any glass we have been drinking from. And she licks everything - people, plastic, toys, everything. She's worse than a dog.

Oh - and I suspect she's got a crush on one of our dogs - she rubs all over him all the time. Poor dog looks scared when she comes along.

The rest of the crew are normal quirky - she is just an odd duck.

My Pomeranian only responds to commands in Spanish. We got her from a latino gentleman in South FL. When we brought her home, our fabulous neighbors from Peru, who speak very little English, would always coo over her en espanol.

I speak Spanish fluently, so I started talking to her in Spanish and now she will only respond if you are speaking Spanish or Spanglish. Now that we have moved to rural country Eastern Shore MD, when I am outside yelling at her in Spanish, I'm sure the neighbors are raising an eyebrow. There's not much diversity here!

She also goes crazy like the chupacabra when my DS plays with her and her "bebe". She sounds like she is possessed and will tear your face off any moment. But as soon as he stops playing with her, she looks up as if to say, oh hai u plz play wif me mor, k thx!

This is the famous "rottie rumble". Some are more vocal than others but the many rotties that I have met all do it. It IS scary of you aren't familiar with it (and probably yet another reason that lots of rotties end up in shelters). But once you've seen an actual growl there's no mistaking one for the other :). Clay sounds like he's a real talker. Believe me, there are other signs associated with an actual growl (hackles, curled lip, exposed teeth).

My last rottie would moo and purr in addition to rumbling, and she would "talk" up a storm, as if she was having a conversation with you. "Oooom marf mrf rmf" :). She would talk to people in the Vet's waiting room. It was hysterical. I miss that girl so much.

My rescue girlie Amber talks as well but it was actually a bit scary until we realized that it was her way of talking. She almost makes a snapping motion with her jaws, accompanied by a gasping rumble. When I give her the "speak" command she drops to the floor, making her puppet mouth and rumbling.

i've heard that too!! and mine occationally stare at nothing! one of my girls will stare at the wall and meow at it....and when i'm home alone i usually tell her "be quiet!" so i don't think about "omg what is she REALLY looking at?" lol
