Hi there everyone.

I'd love to know your takes on which WDW resort(s) has (have) the quietest and/or best-soundproofed rooms. I await your wise words.

Thankx!

I would have to say NOT WL, just by our experience.

I know others probably had no problem with WL.

I would say rooms on top floors of the resorts would tend to be quietest because you don't have people above you and maybe rooms at the end of the hallways would be quiet because you don't have people next to you on one side.

The rooms near the lobby of WL probably aren't that quiet, either.

I've heard that OKW is pretty quiet.

That's kind of a hard question to answer because you may get a room that has a connecting door which may cause more noise from your neighbors to get through. Also, it really depends on how full the resort is. For example, we went to POFQ this past December and we didn't hear a peep. Now that could of been because we did not have any neighbors, but who knows?

I know the All Stars are known for having thin walls.

Of the twelve different trips we have made to Disney, our stay last summer at the Dolphin was very, very quiet. My sister's family was in the room next door to ours on the 11th floor. She has two very active boys 6 and 10 and we never heard a sound the entire week. No bathroom noise of any kind either like many people have heard at many of the resorts. The Swan also was very quiet. Perhaps these two resorts were built with more sound- proofing than some of the Disney resorts.

We have always had good luck at CR. Never a complaint on noise whatsoever and I am a very light sleeper. Good luck

We stayed at POFQ (2nd floor) and CBR (first floor) and we've never had a problem with noise. I too am a light sleeper..used to waking easily because of 4 kiddos ;) but we never heard a peep. We traveled in March over Spring break both times so I know the resorts were pretty full. Maybe Disney wears us out so much we sleep like logs :). You may want to bring a small fan or "white noise" machine as that would probably negate any problems you may encounter with noise though.

I agree with vbfamily about the WL being loud, I always seem to remember that however I think it is more room location than the actual resort.

Rooms with connecting doors will for sure be noisier.

We've always been pretty lucky with the S/D because most of the time our room was at the end of the hall and I think that is a BIG factor so people traffic doesn't pass your room. I'd rather have a long trip to the elevator than listen to everyone get off of it and pass our room yelling.

I always ask for a room without a connecting door now and at the end of the hall. I will fax my room request about 3-4 days before check in. So far I have always gotten what I've asked for, even during busier times.

We just got back from the quietiest room we've ever had, a cabin at FW:D

Absolute quiet is fort wilderness cabins! No one next to you! But stay out of the Poly, been in 3 of the noisiest buildings ever built for a resort, tahiti, tauvlua, & hawawii! Contempary is fairly quiet unless you have really terrible neighbors.;)

We found the tower rooms at the CR to be much quieter than the wing rooms. If I was in the bathroom of the wing room, I could actually hear people talking in the hallway. They were not yelling, just talking in normal voices. I couldn't make out all the words but I could definitely hear them. And there always seemed to be kids running in the hallway which was also loud. We never heard anything in the tower rooms.

BWI was very, very quiet when we were there, but it was also slow. We've also had very quiet experiences at BWV, and the AKL (except for the screetchy cell phone prostate surgery lady on the balcony).

I think a lot has to do with how full the hotel is, how many people are around you. Also a connecting door between your room and the next with noisy neighbors will not be a quiet stay.

So far it has been POR. During our stay last Easter (peak time, so it was full) we never heard any noise, etc. at any time!

Have to agree - FW Cabins. I slept better here than I do at home and we slept on the Murphy bed! We will be returning here in May. Cannot wait to get some more quality zzzzz's.

Everyone has been extremely quiet on each of our trips... usually we are on a corner at POFQ, but last visit was AKL on the first floor, and it was quiet too. I thought I would hear folks in the hallways at AKL, but I guess they really do wear everyone out at WDW!

OKW has to be the quietest. The design, layout, and geography of the place all lend itself to quiet.CR is the noisest. The cheering from Chef Mickey sarries all over the tower area. WL can be noisy depending on your room location, and All-Stars tend to have more kids and groups. OKW is byfar the best.:earsboy:

We've stayed in many of the Disney hotels, and actually, our two stays at the Movies have been VERY QUIET. We were in Love Bug & 101 Dalmations (both were the week AFTER Thanksgiving). We never heard our neighbors.

We've also had good rooms at Port Orleans (twice) and Contemporary North Wing. Our room at the Coronado Springs was very quiet, and very convenient to the first bus stop! The Polynesian room was also pretty quiet considering it was right by the entrance door to the building. We loved our room at the Grand Floridian, and although we never heard our neighbors, we did hear people passing down the hall talking rather loudly before 7:00 AM!!!

I don't think its so much the room is noisy - but if your "neighbors" are inconsiderate - either in the room or when they're passing by.

We have always found the NGW rooms at the CR to be very quite. We had 3 adjoining rooms in January and we couldn't hear a peep out of any of the rooms. Plus, if you get out on the back part of the wing near the lake, it's really quiet. *Sigh* only 7 1/2 months til we get to go back.

Our stays at ASMu & BC were very quiet but we found the noise very frustrating at the GF last summer...noise from the room next door as well as "plumbing" noises from the rooms above.

My wife and I made alot of noise on our honeymoon at the Poly and never had complaints.

Just back from the Swan and we never heard our neighbors at all, and we know they were there, because we saw the newspapers in front of their doors. I mean, I never heard a peep.

Another vote for POFQ. We were there in Dec and it was sooooo quiet, we sometimes wondered if we were the only ones in the building.
