When I was little (7) we went to Louisville Kentucky to visit relatives.

The first trip I took with my family (DH and sons) was over to South Haven, Michigan for two nights when they were 1, 3 and 11.

Our first "out of state" trip was to Kentucky when the boys were 7 and 9 and oldest was at a basketball camp. We went to Cumberland Falls and then to Mammouth Cave.

Soon after began our annual treks to WDW!!!:bounce:

I'm almost positive our first family trip was to WDW. We took DD when she was 5-1/2 months old. She's 8 now and has logged 11 trips to Disney. We've also done many other family trips - Boston, Niagra Falls, D.C., Caribbean cruise and lots of shorter closer destinations. We just love to travel. Leaving on a cruise in 10 days and doing Disney for Jersey Week end of October.

I don't recall the very first family vacation because we did take vacations often when we were kids but I can only imagine that it was to Lake Lawn Lodge in Delavan Wisconsin.

Kitty 34 Do you still vacation in South Haven? My cousin owns the McDonald's out there. When he moved there to buy the McDonald's it was the first time I ever heard of South Haven so I always find myself surprised when people have been vacationing there for years.

We haven't been there in a couple of years as we go up to Mackinac City now to vacation near the water.:D

I have family members that still live in South Haven. Has your cousin heard of Captain Nichols, the charter fishing boat? My uncle owns that.:D

The earliest one I can remember is when I was 6 yo and we went to Panama City Beach.:)

I'll have to check into Captain Nichols of South Haven when I go there for the 4th or Blueberry Fest!
They've been out there for at least 15 years now and I think they know just about everyone.

When my sister and I were growing up my mom and her sister always took us to Seaside Hights a beach in New Jersey.

as a child our one really big vacation was a trip once out to n c to tour the great smokey mts,, and in true where ver you go you take your kids,, as a family our fist trip with dd was to tour n c with dw's uncle from winston salem was really fun seeing the same sites we have pics of me as a boy in pics of dd a s a lil one too:) our favorite vac was last summer to wdw,, that we want to repeat, our regulart weekend spot has ben ruined by a new reservation policy which eliminates any chance of a spur of the moment camper getting a lake side site this yer, and with my injuries anytrtip is spur of moment and s hort t erm right now. we are planning to go to gulf of mexico soon depending on what the drs say this friday as to when we plan it out. ( but w eare getting a new pool next week so we wont hear "can we go rto th e lake" as often,, i hope:)

My neice was crowned the Blueberry Fest queen or whatever they call them about 6 years ago!:D

I have absolutely no clue how old I was but I'm sure my first family vacation was to Norfolk, VA to visit my family that was in the navy there. And pretty much we made yearly visits there (that's how I know so much about that area). My first WDW trip was on my 9th bday in 1978. I will never, ever, ever forget that trip as we met my mom's parents there (they had a trailer near at Panellas Park (sp?)) and we had just finished building our new home the October prior (in 1977) that my grandpa did a lot of work on. Little did we know then that he was going to be gone in 8 months. It was the best vacation I had ever had (up to that point).

When I was growing up, we went somewhere several times a year. Either we were "camping" or traveling. Usually to relatives homes, but always somewhere.
As a teenager we spent most the summer "camping", every weekend.

Since I got married, we rarely took any vacations. Nothing major at all until I planned the trip to WDW a few years ago. That was it.

The first one I remember was from OKC to Denver, CO for my cousin Matthew's christening-my parents are his godparents.

The first one for my family was to Washington DC to see the Star Wars exhibit at the Smithsonian. DD#1 was about 6 mos. old.

Growing up, we spent our summers with my aunt and her kids down at the shore, in Rehobeth Beach. We'd get a cabin, and my aunt would get a cabin, and just play on the beach all day. My dad and my uncle would come down on weekends. Looking back on it, my mother and Aunt seemed to have so much fun -- they were always mixing up cocktails and smoking cigarettes. :) Totally NOT politically correct nowdays, but definately a sign of the times. Anyway, I'm guessing they needed to knock back a few cocktails every day since my mom had 9 kids and my aunt 6. :)

As far as my family, our first family vacation after we had children was to WDW in 1999.

:teeth: I was thinking as I read this...well, that was either the cause or the effect :teeth:

St. Martin/Marteen (Caribbean) and Ireland when I was 7 and then WDW when I was 8!
