What was your very first family vacation?

We went a few times for a weekend at Wildwood NJ. We would stay at a hotel for two days, and come home.

Then we went to Canada I think the summer of my 8th grade year. We went to the falls, the Ripleys believe it or not museum, the wax museum, did the Maid of the Mist, and drove to Toronto.

The year after that we visited my aunt and uncle in Santa Barbara. We went to Disneyland, and Universal, and Knots Berry Farm. That was 1985.

starting when I was 6mos old, we spent summers on the Cape.

We would go to the Poconos my aunt had a lake house. Our first real vacation was WDW. It was 1976 and was 6, we stayed at the golf resort which is now SOG. My first trip with my kids and dh was also WDW.

Pleasant Pond in Raymond New Hampshire. Every year from 5 to 17 or so.

With DH and DS, I have no idea, we used to go lots of places, WDW, VBeach, Williamsburg,. OC. I couldn't tell you what the first trip was, DS started going to NH when he was less than 2 with my parents, does that count?

My first family vacation I was 5 (omg, that was 26yrs ago) and we went to VA beach. The whole trip down, every body of water we passed (pond, creek, mud puddle) someone would tell me it was the ocean. I would get so excited, only to be let down constantly. After the beach we went to Busch Gardens, Williamsburg. I got the worst sunburn I ever had that trip. I recently asked my mom what she was thinking, letting me get so burned!

I remember it to be when I was 6 yo. Mom, Dad, Sis, me, 2 Aunts, 2 Uncles and 1 cousin all went on a camping/fishing trip to Canada. Not sure exactly where. But I do remember lots of mosquitoes and almost drowning!

First trip with my family was camping at Ft. Wilderness! Much better!

Yep...I thought monkeyboy's post sounded like he MUST be a brady!! :p

First one ever was to California when I was about a year old. I don't remember any of it, but we went to Disneyland and I apparently threw up at the San Diego Zoo.

The first one I remember is, of course, Disney World 2 years later. It was 3 months or so after my little brother was born. We stayed at the Polynesian, and my dad and I sat in the closet and played board games in the evening while my brother slept. :upsidedow

I was 8 years old when I went with my parents, my aunt and uncle and their two children on a road trip to Texas to visit family. We went in a station wagon. No seatbelts back then, us three kids sat/laid down in the back. We drove straight through, and I remember we had $50 (each couple) for gas and food along the way. You sure wouldn't do it that way these days! :teeth:

After I got married and we had our two children our first "big vacation" was to the New England states for two weeks. Our DS was 5 and DD was 2-1/2. Great vacation. They were wonderful little travelers and of course we did a lot of things they would enjoy like going to Hershey Park in PA, Santa Land (or whatever it was called) in NH, went on the Maid of the Mist at Niagara Falls, etc. Made lots of great family memories. :)

Don't forget about the trip to Kings Island, monkeyboy.

When I was one my family all went to Italy.(35 family members) When I was 2 we all went to France. (48 family mambers) When I was 3 we all went to London. (I dont remember how many!)

But the first one I remember (besides living in France)....wait does it have to be with my whole family?

When I was 4 I remember driving to Massachutes and staying with my aunt for about a month! That was great..we are still that close!

With DH my first vacation was to WDW (we were 16/17) and the first family vacation with his family was to the Philippines.

The first one with my kids and DH was to WDW!

I will tell you about my childrens first family vacation!!

We flew in to Orlando on Nov 1, 2000. DS was 1 and DD was 2. DH and I had been married for 15 years.

We were picked up by a Limo provided by Tiffany. We stayed one week at the GF. It was truly a magical trip and we have the photos and memories to prove it!!!

We again made the trip to Disney in 2003. Stayed at POR for 10 days. We drove that time and after Disney drove to Pigeon Forge TN for a family reunion.

We are doing it again this year. Oct 29 to Nov 9 and we will be staying at WL.

Can you tell we just LOVE Disney?

We went to Key West, Florida when I was just about a year old. Needless to say, I don't remember any of it! LOL
