What was your favourite part of your home growing up?

After my parents got divorced, my mom, sister, and I moved in with my grandparents in a farmhouse on 83 acres. It had ponds, a creek, barns, livestock, long driveway for riding bikes, etc. It was great.

The house we had from middle school to when I got married I liked the basement. Lots of slumber parties.

The living room couch. We lived in a ranch house with the bedrooms at the end of a long hallway. When we were sick, my mom would tuck us in on the couch, so she could do her housework and keep us nearby. We could see her and she'd make us scrambled eggs, tomato soup, and chocolate milk. We felt taken care of and loved. To this day when I am sick, I want to be on the couch, and I LOVE sleeping on the couch in my house. I'm sure it's a security thing going back to my childhood.

While living in Utah, being able to run free in the desert surrounding the Army base that was in the middle of nowhere. Jumping into the tanks and other military equipment at the motor pool. Being able to sit in the various fighter jets sitting on the tarmac. A different age and time.

I am so OLD.... I remember how exciting it was to lay in the floor playing Atari in the corner of our "formal livingroom". :rotfl2:

We had an old Victorian with a great attic. I would love to have that space today.

The dining room. The family would sit around the table for hours, just chatting and laughing. Those days are gone now....my family barely speaks to each other.

I live in that house, and when I was a kid it was the pool. Now though I think that is my least favorite thing about this house!

My neighborhood street. Knew all our neighbors. We all watched out for each other. All the kids growing up, always something to do...outside.
