I know with the holidays comming everyone is going to be putting on a few pounds. I was wondering how much does everyone put on after they have come back from a disney vacation. My family weighted themselves before the trip and after the trip and I gained 4 pounds, DH and my Mom both gained 8 pounds. We were there only a week but the food was so good.

I made a poll to see where everyone falls in their weight gain after a trip.
Please pick the pounds closest to your weight gain during your trip.

I clicked "1-2" -- but really my family doesn't really gain weight. We do so much walking that we just walk off anything we eat. :) 'Course DH & I could stand to lose a few lbs, we just don't want to get any fatter on vacation!:upsidedow

No weight gain for us... we do so much walking that even though we eat a LOT, we don't really gain pounds. We eat a lot of seafood though, so maybe if we were big meat eaters it would make a difference, I'm not sure. We definitely get a lot more exercise on vacation than we do at home though.

I said 1-2....but actually I think it was closer to 0. We ate sooooo much (due to "free dining")....but we also walked soooooo much too. I think we kinda broke even!:goodvibes

I hope I'll only gain 1 to 2 (if any) but I'm scared. I just started Weight Watchers and I won't be tracking points while I'm there so it's making me nervous. I'm just too stubborn and excited about this trip to restrain myself after all the planning of meals!

I couldn't vote as we loose weight there... Disney trips are like exercise programs for us. I plan a few meals out, but love the villas as they allow us to eat as we normally would (saves $$$ too)

I clicked 1-2 but we don't gain, usually LOSE with all the walking and activities in addition to the heat.

Now funny thing is, my extended family went and they ALL gained so much weight they literally ate themselves CRAZY on Deluxe Dine and said they would never do that again :rotfl2: My SIL who is 100 lbs wet said she could not even close her pants and had to extend her belt hole :lmao: :lmao:

Too Funny To Me!! :cool1:

Best of Luck on WW!!

Have a GREAT trip!!!! :wizard:

I ate a LOT on our last trip and only gained a pound.

All the walking balances everything out, I think.:thumbsup2

Wow 8 pounds in 1 week or even 2 weeks is quite unhealthy. What did you eat? Like most people said you do so much walking at Disney that is sort of evens out. I would imagine if you were disabled that would not be the case so I apologize if that is the situation here.

It was alot of desserts and sweets that are not normally eating during our normal routine. DH and I lost the weight we gained two weeks after we got back. Once we got back to our normal routine we lost the weight and weigh our normal predisney weight. :thumbsup2

None.

We always do the Dining Plan, but never gain any weight.

I wish we were lucky and didn't gain weight. We all gained weight. My mom 5, my dad 7, brother 8, husband 8 ,friend 7 and me 7. We also did tons of walking but we still all gained. We did the deluxe dining. At home we never do a big breakfast lunch with an app. and dessert and then dinner not to mention all the other snacks along the way.

Your poll needs a 0 option! We have never gained weight while at WDW. I think all that walking balances things out nicely!

Well I weighted in at weight watchers before we had left last year in December. We went the week after Thanksgiving and had the meal plan and I lost weight when I can back and weight in at WW. I was so excited. I hope I do the same this time.

Another who walks it off. I usually come back from WDW very well fed, lighter in both waist and wallet.

I gained weight the last time I was there. And I am afraid of doing the same this time.

I'm with OP. I don't usually eat like that, and the walking is norm in my life as I am very fit and exercise a lot.

But the food is so good! And so many buffets! I always way over-eat. I have to come home and be good and lose those extra few pounds. :)

I always feel like I have to make the most of those meals since they cost so much! I'm going to try and fight the urge this time. Limit dessert to a couple of times. Its going to be hard though. Especially with free dining. You are almost *obligated* to overeat to take full advantage of the 'deal' you are getting.

Here's to self-control for us all! :thumbsup2

Thank you!!

Good for you! Do you have any tips for a fellow WW?? We also have the meal plan for our December trip.

The last time we went, I'd say the net effect was zero, but I'm not sure. We never weighed ourselves or anything. I checked off 1-2 pounds.

This time out we're on the DDP, so I expect to tub up at least a couple of pounds.

Then again, I'm a guy, and though I'm fairly heavy (and striving to lose pounds), I just don't get frantic about a momentary weight gain. I don't think anybody else should either. Once you get back, you go back to normal eating. It's not like there's gonna be a breakfast buffet waiting for me in our kitchen when I get back in February. If I can shell out several K to have a good time, I can also endure slipping 4 or 5 pounds at the same time.

I picked the 7-8 lb option. There are 6 in our family and we typically visit for 10+ day with each of us typically gaining a pound or two. Not too bad considering we eat no where near as healthy as we do at home.
