What was your biggest food letdown???

We were so excited about Ohana and absolutely hated it. Found most things completely flavorless and the service atrocious. I wanted to love it so badly!
I did, however, LOVE the bread pudding (only saving grace of the meal).

I was really disappointed with YSH last year. DH had a great steak but mine was like shoe leather. The service was also poor even though the restaurant was almost empty:confused3 I was really looking forward to the lobster bisque but I thought the sherry taste was really strong, DD loved it though. I guess I was most disappointed with the service the waiter disappeared for long periods and forgot about our dessert  By the time we finally got the bill I just wanted to get out of there. We did 11 nights on DxDDP and it was actually the worst meal of the trip, I'm not anxious to try it again.

We love the Dole Whip were disappointed with the cream cheese pretzel in MK. We decided the US cream cheese is different than Canadian cream cheese. It's not as strong tasting :confused3

Mine is a toss up between the Zebra Domes and the Coral Reef...well, mainly the Coral Reef...the only thing good there was the desert, my meal was flavorless

Le Cellier was such a let down. I hated my entire meal! The flovors were just gross. The cheese soup was nasty and the filet had so much truffle oil it made me gag. Major dissapointment since I went to such effort to get the reservation.

Tonga toast. I wanted to love it, I really really did..too sweet, even for my sweet-loving tooth!

Ours was the Wishes Dessert Party. I LOVE sweets and I was most looking forward to indulging in lots of them but everything kind of tasted the same - except for the chocolate covered strawberries, they were fabulous. But, when I went back to get more they were gone. After I returned and commented about it on one of the threads I was told that I could have asked a server for more. It would have been nice if CM had told us that as we were entering the party. Anyway, we did have a good view but won't go back.

We liked the Dole Whips but I didn't realize they were just soft serve sherbet until we ordered one. We also enjoyed Chef Mickeys, Crystal Palace and Akershus (all breakfasts).

The Tangerine Cafe in Morocco, in Epcot.
We have heard such great things about this place...it was , well, yucky. :sad2:

Also, Bistro De Paris in epcot.
We ate there on our honeymoon, due to all the glowing reviews.
The food was nasty and the service awful.
We will never go back. (Well, never say never) .
Crystal palace: Found it to be disgusting.

And Zebra Domes..WAY TOO SWEET. :sad2:

OH, and Jalapeno cheese pretzels. These were "ok", but I was expecting something spectacular.

Like the sweet cream cheese pretzel..now THOSE are awesome popcorn::

I think that my most disappointing meals have been at Coral Reef and San Angel Inn. Both just blah and bland. We have been several times too and it's always the same. The sugar free cheesecake at Coral Reef is disgusting.
I have also been disappointed in Le Cellier because of all of the hype about it. I was expecting something wonderful and it just was not. The beer cheese soup this past time was gross too.

The apple cobbler in the American counter service place at Epcot is gross too. After a week of good desserts I almost cried when I tasted this.:rotfl2: When I say it was bad, it was bad. I still remember it and it was years ago! My kids still say "You no want yo appla cobblaa" every time we pass by that place. :rotfl2: I guess you had to be there.;)

My over all favorite meal, hands down, is at Kona Cafe.:lovestruc I love, love love the teriyaki steak, mashed potatoes and the Kona Cone. Second favorite is 50's Prime Time Cafe. I like the new dish with pot roast, chicken & meatloaf sampler. YUMMY!! Oh, and Dad's brownie.

First off, to be fair, our trip was pretty much an unmitigated disaster from the very first day.

That said, for me, the biggest letdown was Flying Fish Cafe. The adult's food was good to very good, but my DGD's meat had turned bad and she ended up with a bowl of mac alfredo. For 2 dining credits, I expected better all around.

Now, I missed most EVERYTHING I had wanted to try, but here were my winners and losers. The dinner at CRT was wonderful! :lovestruc I loved the food, the dessert was outstanding and our server was the best guy EVER! My DGD was dressed as Ariel and she had to tell Ariel how much she adored her when she came by the table. Ariel replied, "Oh, you make me feel like a starfish!". Cracked the adults up and made DGD light up from within. Also loved BBB princess:. Le Cellier was "okay", the meat was not "fork tender" and the mushroom risotto was salty . The Dole Whip was wonderful and I could have eaten a couple a day, easily! :lovestruc :worship: :thumbsup2 Missed out on all the cupcakes everywhere. :sad1: Alice's Teaparty was SO much fun for DGD and she loved Alice and the Mad Hatter.
Decorations at WL and GF were really nice but not spectacular and I was surprised I like the plain cookies from the gingerbread house. The "picnic" Fantasmic dinner was very good, though not the best. WDP Express was much better than I even anticipated.

VERY disappointed in the MVMCP and doubt I would go again. But then, I probably will, just not so close to the holidays (12/14).

The Centra Care Center is dangerously scary! :scared1: :scared1: If that is typical medical care in Florida, I shiver! My doctor there had to finish dead last in medical school. If he even went to one. :rolleyes1 NEVER again!

The trip cost me well over 9K. Due to circumstances beyond anyone's control or fault, it was a wasted trip. I wish travel insurance covered disasters like ours. I SO badly want to hurry and go back again but it took me so many years to save up that kind of cash. It just broke my heart and I have been depressed ever since we got home.

Oh--did love the Mickey head rice krispy treats and couldn't get enough of them for a couple of days, then got turned against them or just too tired of them or something. :sad2: :rolleyes1

I have to agree that 'Ohana was a big disappointment on our last trip. The appetizers were cold, the meat was overcooked. And the vegetarian meal was 5 little pieces of tofu hidden in a tangle of stir fried vegetables, not the wonderful entree that we were used to. The pita chips that came with hummus for the vegetarian were stale. And it felt as if the food was just being thrown at us (the noodles actually slid off the appetizer plate when it was served). Not a satisfying nor relaxing meal. I couldn't get out of there fast enough and I won't be returning.

Sci-Fi dine in and Raglan Road. We were really looking forward to Raglan Road and the food wasn't even good, let alone great. Sci-Fi wasn't spectacular at all, we were looking forward to the neat atmosphere, and it was just chaotic and too loud. To top it off they both had poor service.

Dole Whip for me. I really wanted to like it, but I did not care for it at all. In fact I took a few bites and passed it off to the kids and dh.

These threads are such a waste of time, sorry. I have counted atleast 10 things people have listed that I loved...school bread, 'Ohana (especially the bread pudding), funnel cakes, cupcakes from SR, Dole Whips, Akerhus...

What is the point? Just to be able to be negative? This shouldn't influence people in any way, and if it does that's too bad, b/c someone may not try something at WDW just b/c someone on here said they didn't like it. It's all a matter of taste.

Of course this topic is only to solicit people's experiences and opinions. Of course individual experiences may vary. Good Lord! I, for one, enjoy and value hearing all these fine people's opinions of various restaurants at the World. That's the reason this forum exists -- to afford others the means to share and converse with others.

Really, if you find no value or enjoyment in our discussion, then I'm sure you're free to leave and spend your time elsewhere.

I'll get off my soapbox now, and get back to reading these posts! :goodvibes

:sad1:Coral Reef... all of our meals had something wrong (undercooked, too salty, and one with a fish bone!) Very disapointed :sad1:

Gladly, I don't visit WDW for it's cuisine, but there was one lunch that pops out at me as a memory of a bad meal and that was when we went to Scifi Drive In. After ordering my $30 hamburger (ok, Im embelishing, but STILL...) and choking that down, I realized that the replayed movie loops started to annoy me after a while, and I guess I didnt like the dark aptmoshere-but maybe they do that so you wont see your bill very well and the shock won't be as bad- either way, not going back-but there are people that love the place and the theming/nothin wrong with that.

Me? I'll take sitting outside Casey's with a dog and fries-people watching!!

Our most recent trip was Nov 11 and I really was not impressed with much at all!

My biggest letdowns were the school bread (bleh!) and the cupcakes at Starring Rolls. Both used to be great and now they are gross. :confused3

I was also very excited to try the caramel store in Germany and was not really impressed with anything there either. Got the caramel roll with marshmellow, the chcolate caramel cookie and the caramel with milk chocolate and sea salt. Thought they were going to be heavenly and they were just ok.
