On one of the podcasts after Pete and Walter's last trip to Disneyland, Pete mentioned that he has a new favorite restaurant at Disneyland. I can't find the podcast again. :confused3 Anyone either remember which restaurant he went to and loved, or know which podcast I can find it in? I'd love to recommend it to my parents who are going to Disneyland for the first time in a couple months.

Don't know the name of the restaurant, but maybe try this episode?

May 13, 2008 Podcast

In this week's show we discuss Disneyland and the California Food and Wine Festival after Pete and Walter's return from their working vacation to Southern California.

I believe it was steakhouse 55 in the disneyland hotel. We had dinner there for our kids bday in November. The atmosphere is very cool and the service was excellent. The food was pretty good (honestly, I liked my meal at Jiko better when we were at WDW). The potato casserole was TO DIE FOR as Pete mentioned.

One caution- my DD LOVES steak which is one of the reasons we chose this restaurant- they have one on the kids menu. But it was very small for the price and quite fatty. If we went again, I'd bite the bullet and order a small steak for her from the adult menu.

Hope this helps!

Yes! Steakhouse 55 is it! And it is mentioned in the May 13 Disneyland show. Thank you both!!!

our favorite place at Disneyland is River Belle Terrace. With 2 kids (DS15, DD10), we would start our day with Mickey pancakes and eggs and bacon. Probably one of the best priced meals in all of Disney (both land and world). Still not cheap, but one of the best bargains for a meal.

here's a recap from the DL site:

Experience down-home Southern hospitality while enjoying a hearty meal amidst the graceful elegance of ornate wrought iron rails and shade-bearing umbrellas. Once the cherished Sunday morning breakfast locale of Walt Disney himself, this stately restaurant remains a sentimental favorite for classic breakfast fare, as well as hearty and healthful specialties for lunch and dinner.

Breakfast menu items include:
Fluffy "Mickey Mouse"-shaped pancakes
Scrambled eggs with country-style potatoes
Fruit plate of the season's most refreshing selections
Sides such as bacon, sausage, cinnamon rolls and more

Lunch and dinner menu items include:
Signature Sandwiches, featuring prime rib, turkey breast, barbecued pork, or savory vegetable
Bountiful entrée salads, with prime rib, turkey breast, or a harvest of vegetables

Children's menu items include:
"Little Carver" prime rib, turkey, or PB & J sandwich

ooh- we had breakfast there one morning and it was very good. We tried going there for dinner but bcs so many people were camped out for fantasmic, they made an announcement that it would be unlikely that anyone else would get a table.
