I saw speculation awhile back that Starbucks and Earl of Sandwich (EOS) where coming to DTD - has this been confirmed? Any dates?

Both would be great additions in my view - a good cup of coffee (finally) and great roast beef and other sandwiches (love EOS!!!)

I know that EoS has been confirmed, although I am not sure the opening date. I can't wait though! :cool1: I hope it is open soon, but I have heard speculation that it will be when Carsland opens.

I would be all for EOS. I haven't eaten there yet, but my grandparents went to the one in DTD on their WDW trip, and raved about it, so that would be a pleasant addition. Idk about Starbucks. There is one RIGHT on Harbor Blvd by the parking structure. If Disney puts one in DTD it would probably be way higher prices and would take a lot of business from that location. But idk about either. Just thought EOS would be great!

I hope it will be open 1st week in June.
That's our favorite place to eat while at WDW.
I think most books stores are on the way out because of
ebooks, even Encyclopedia Britainica is not going to make
printed books anymore.

It is ours, too! So nummy and inexpensive, it is a great lunch option.
I have fingers crossed for mid-May, although I am doubtful. We plan to be back in July, so either way I am ecstatic.
I wonder if anyone who has been in DTD can let us know if construction has started?

Compass Books isn't scheduled to close until 3/31, so no, construction has not started. According to the Disney Parks blog, Earl of Sandwich is supposed to open in "early summer" - that seems like a pretty short time to remodel the existing space, though.

Since there are Starbucks every couple of blocks most places, I don't think that putting one in Downtown Disney will have much effect on the Harbor Blvd. one, particularly since it's nowhere NEAR quick walking distance from the parks. I'd be a happy camper if they put one in DTD or somewhere on hotel row on Harbor. :thumbsup2
