iIf you are looking to book a stay in one the the DW resorts?????????:bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

Ive been a few times, so now I do my own research and book directly with Disney reservations for room only, and buy tickets separately as well. Usually cheaper than package deals.

I do it all myself. I have used a travel agent in the past but I find that I know more than they do about Disney World. It is easier because then I can get exactly what I want.
:magnify:

I make all my reservations and PS myself...however their are a few DIS members that are TA so maybe one will post on this thread for you.

Like the previous posters, I do all the ressies myself by calling Disney directly. Before you do, be sure to read all pertinent info , (there is alot), at www.mousesavers.com you will definetly save $$ there! Just as an example, a year or 2 ago, a friend of mine was going and used a TA for a 7 nite stay, UMP's, 2 rooms at the GF. They had booked at a price of $6000.00!!!! This was for 4 adults and 2 kids (one was under 3, so really only 1 kid). This was the marathon pkg, so they also got a pasta dinner. I looked for codes on mousesavers, had him book it himself with parkhoppers instead of UMP's, lost the pasta dinner, same rooms, and he saved a little over $2000.00!!!! When he cancelled with the TA, he told her about the code from mousesavers, and she had never even heard of using codes at WDW! I think the TA's don't have incentive to save you money, after all, they do work on a % commision!

Great points you bring up scanmom, We also have an area that lets people search for up to date codes and discounts. Follow the link below to check our discount area out.

I just want to mention that one of our advertisers that keeps these boards running, actually prides itself in keeping up on the code discounts. Over the course of the years they have been opened they have saved clients thousands and thousands of dollars on their clients vacations. Check out what their clients are saying about them at the url below

The other thing Dreams does for clients is make priority seating calls for you, saving you time and money getting them. Why make large number of long distance phone calls when they take care of it for you. Sometimes I wonder if people where to add up their savings and then add up their long distance phone bills and the number of hours used to get the savings if it actually pays to do it yourself. I for one don't like getting up before 7 am to call in that hard to get Priority Seating or Discount pricing, when you could have someone else doing it for you. Instead you go on with the normal life happenings like sleeping in later.

My husband just lets our local AAA agent book for us. He tells her what we want and then lets her handle all of it.

I used Sue Ellen at Dreams Unlimited for our October trip. The whole process was fantastic and I will definately use them again. Planning a Disney trip solo while working and being a mom is a monumental task so I was thrilled with the services that Dreams Unlimited provided.

Everybody has their own way of planning their vacation but if you would like help- give Dreams a shout.

(I don't work for them...really!! I'm just a happy customer! :) )

I used Linda at The Magic For Less. She is wonderful to work with and she is so punctual with her follow up to me. No question is silly and she has been super about changing resorts, dates, packages, etc.

Originally, I started booking the trip myself. Linda has helped with suggestions for this first timer and her party of 8. The service is excellent and there are no additonal fees involved. She helped me save close to $1900 on my original reservations. The website is www.themagicforless.com::yes::

Check it out!!

I've used AAA for the last few trips and they were great. No complaints until I became a member of DIS. Now, next trip, I'm planning it myself instead of booking a package thru AAA. It appears to me that there are greater savings if you don't book a package and do room only booking and then get your tickets.

Of course last year's FTP was a great deal - so we'll just have to wait and see. But I doubt they'll run that package again.

I also do all the planning myself...I've even started helping others plan and save.....too bad I can't find someway to earn money at it...:)

I've done some myself and others using DreamsUnlimited. I have found that I can get the ps's I really want by using them. I've always gotten exactly what I need. And, it saves me time and phone bills by letting Shirley do it all for me. She has always gotten my terrific rates. If there's a code rate out there, DU will find it and apply it to your reservation.
Of course, sometimes, the thrill of the hunt is fun. It all depends on how much time I have.

I'm also using Dreams Unlimited (dreamsunlimitedtravel.com) for my honeymoon trip coming up this January. Kelsie is my agent and has been able to get me everything I asked for. She got me into the tours and the dinner shows I wanted to go to at the times I wanted. She also got me the priority seatings for meals I wanted and is reserving special seating arrangements for the fireworks for me since I have the silver plan and that's included. She also managed to get me front row seats to the Cirque du Soleil. She's been really great! She even emails me to let me know when she'll be on vacation and gives me the email addresses of coworkers who will be handling her accounts. It's definitely made planning for my honeymoon a ton easier - and I can definitely use it since I have a wedding to plan.

:D

I use Liberty Travel to book my flights and resort. I do the rest myself.

if I sounded too down on TA's. I am sure some of them are really good, and I have read great things on these boards about Dreams Unlimited. I did try to get reservations for a friend of mine thru them at the Swan for this Dec., and they just said, sorry, sold out, and when I called to follow up (they had a # to call for ?'s in their e-mail to me), they told me they couldn't help me with ressies for the YC, that I would have to resubmit online! They were a little short, and so I just called Disney and used a code from mousesavers to get an AP rate. I had no problems and they now have 2 rooms at YC for 4 nites for $1554.00 total with taxes and all! It was a 10 minute phone call, but all my long distance is a set price for unlimited use...on my home phone AND my cell phone, so I don't get a large phone bill.:sunny: I am sure some people like the ease of a TA, but I would rather do it myself, I enjoy it and I have never had a problem.:jumping1:

Our first trip to WDW I used AAA. Then a few months before we were leaving I found this site. Boy was I kicking myself! There are so many ways to save money by booking everything yourself. Of course the last couple of trips we have taken we were lucky enough to get room only discounts. Doesn't look like we'll be seeing those anytime soon!

Dreams Unlimited

This is the first year we have tried them and will always use them from now on.

We leave in a couple of days. But everything they have done for us up to this point has exceeded my expectations. The service is excellent. I don't know why I never tried them before.

I use The Magic For Less. It is run by the same group of women that run DisneyDollarless and they have been absolutely wonderful.

They stay on top of discounts and always automatically lower my rate for me as soon as a discount is available. They have saved me the stress of sitting on the boards all day and night wondering when and if codes will be released. LOL I used to enjoy it, but with the lack of codes it has become way to stressful for me.

They make my PS reservations and fax my room requests. My counselor has called me anytime I need to talk to her and is always emailing me with great tips. I know there are some on-line agencies that don't like to call you.

With the Holidays coming up I am so glad to have The Magic For Less taking care of my reservation. I know my vacation plans will receive the same care and attention that I give them at no cost to me.
