What to wear?

Could someone tell me what the men are expected to wear in the three rotational restaurants? Can they wear flip flops with jeans or shorts? And teenage boys...are they expected to wear dress pants? Help! I leave next weekend!

My personal opinion (aside from what the written dress code says) is that it sort of varies by what is "normal" depending on the itinerary. You will see more casual summer wear on the tropical cruises, warmer wear on the Alaska and usually more dressed up on the transatlantic and PC cruises.

The only "dress code" in the Main Dining Rooms is "no swimwear or tank tops for dinner"

Beyond that, you'll see all manner of dress in the dining rooms. From shorts to formal wear (even on formal night).

Thank you both so much. We are doing the 5 day dream cruise to bahamas and took this same cruise four years ago. However, I can't remember what the men wore and all of our pictures at night seem to be from the waist up! Go figure! I thought we would take a pair of khakis for the guys but for the most part stick with dress shorts and polos for dinner.

We just got home from our trip and had the early seating. We wore anything from dresses/slacks to nice shorts. No denim. Due to our early seating a couple of times we wore nice shorts and polo shirts after getting back on ship. You will see a wide range of dress.

Perfect! We have the early as well so that helps alot!

Strictly a personal opinion, but I like to see people change out of their daywear, clean up a bit, and dress nice for dinner. Nothing fancy, but for men a clean pair of khakis or dress shorts and a clean shirt, preferably with a collar. I understand we're all on vacation, but the MDR isn't McDonalds. (flame away...:teeth:)

No flames here, I agree. But, unfortunately, that doesn't seem to be the direction Disney is heading.

I absolutely agree....it's one of the times I can get my crew together for great pictures! I have packed the khakis and some dress shorts. All is well!!!! :)

I agree, we have done 3 Disney cruises and my husband wore docker pants to our first dining room and after seeing other men in nice dress shorts he said for get this, I am wearing shorts from now on. With his dress shorts, he wore a nice shirt or a polo shirt with sperry shoes. It really is up to the individuals. He never dresses up here at home so he felt more comfortable in his dress shorts. I know some people disagree and feel that people should dress up, but heck your on vacation, so if they are more comfortable with shorts let them as long as they are not gym shorts or have holes in them.
