What to take to Cast away Key

We are crusing this sunday so I guess I better start thinking about packing! What do we need to take with us when we go to cast away Key for the day? I know all you cleaver people here can give me wonderful ideas. Thanks in advance!!

The main things are sunscreen, tote bag, flip flops, hats, and a camera. Have a great time!

When we go to Castaway Cay I pack a day bag that has the following:

Sunscreen, sunglasses, hats, books, snorkels, dive masks, waterproof disposable cameras, water, and comb. To us a great day at Castaway Cay is getting two nice lounge chairs and small chair under an umbrella. We set up the two lounge chairs with the towels we picked up when we left the ship. We then put the bag on the chair between us. As we take out the snorkels and masks we replace them with our t-shirts and shorts. After snorkeling we left the snorkels and masks dry out while we sit back and read out books. Wait for a castmember to go by and put in an order for a virgin conk cooler for DH and we are set! AHHHHHHHHH - heaven on earth!

In addition to the above: Take watershoes for yourself and any children. There are places in the water that are very rocky!!

In the summer you'll need water bottles or soda mugs to fill with water at the drinking fountain...I too loved the great bar service on the beach but really felt quizy as the day went on with the high heat - I think the families on either side spent a small fortune on water bottles

PS Binoculars are great too - perfect for me to keep track of the kids without leaving my chair

If you're traveling with young children, you might want to bring along pails and shovels...

You'll need actual money with you if you want to mail a postcard or letter home from the island. They sell postcards there but you can just bring along the freebies from your room. That is the only cash that you will need as you can charge everything else.

Kleenex in a zip lock bag for blowing noses after snorkeling. And if you do send letters, make sure you buy the proper denomination of postage. I bought postcard stamps and put them on DCL stationary letters to ourselves, they never arrived and I didn't even think about what I had done till afterward.

You will need your KTTW card when you get off the ship and to get back on. You will also need the card to buy something on the island.

Thanks all!! I think our packing is done !! We leave for the airport tomorrow a.m. and will be on the Wonder this Sunday! I can not thank you wonderful people on this board enough for all the exellent tips we have recieved to make this trip special.Our three little Russian Angels will be blown away by this Cruise! They can not belive Mickey Mouse has his own boat AND his own island. When we met our daughter she had a Mickey mouse sweatshirt on, she was living in the middle of no where Siberia. the only english she spoke was Hello and Mickey Mouse! And one year later I think we will me making 3 little Russian/ Americans dreams truley come true!

You will still need drinks on CC now. We were on the 11/15 Eastern & it was very warm. You can borrow sand toys from Scuttles Cove. I had some packed but DH left them in the car when he parked it in the terminal lot.

We brought our camera, sunscreen, coverups and sand shoes. but we totally forgot to bring our books. It would have been so nice to strech out on a beach chair and read....
Oh well, we won't forget next time!!
