There's six of us...and I have a ham...what should I serve with it? Somehow Mashed Potatoes doesn't seem to fit...what do you serve with yours? Anything special?

Cheesy hash brown/potato casserole (DH doesn't like scalloped potatoes, but I think that's traditional with ham)

Cheesy potatoes! Our menu is just ham, cheesy potatoes and a bunch of appetizers and desserts. We will just graze and nibble all day.

I serve o'gratton potatoes and green bean casserole. Add in some black and green olives, yams and home made dinner roles.

We do baked mac 'n cheese typically because my kids don't like scalloped potatoes. My dh's favorite is candied sweet potatoes with ham but I still make the mac 'n cheese because my picky kids won't eat sweet potatoes either.

FWIW, I know plenty of people who make mashed potatoes with ham. I guess for those who only like mashed potatoes when there is gravy, it could be a problem as I have no idea what type of gravy you could do with ham.

Macaroni & Cheese
Augratin potatoes
Sweet potato casserole
Roasted Sweet Potatoes
Cornbread dressing
Corn Casserole
Green vegetables

our menu is:

ham
cheesy hashbrowns
deviled eggs
dilled peas
rolls
appetizers!

I have never made my own ham, but when I was growing up we always had au gratin potatoes as the side.

Mmmm...glazed ham with sliced pineapple! We usually serve steamed green beans with slivered almonds and some fresh rolls.

Mashed Potatoes, gravy and brussel sprouts

I do twice-baked potatoes. They're yummy, and you can prepare them the day before and just bake the second time when the ham is in the oven.

I microwave the potatoes and let them cool a bit. Then slice the top off and scoop the potato into a bowl. Mash it with French onion dip (sorry, I don't have measurements... just enough to make it look like creamy mashed potatoes). Add shredded cheddar (maybe 1 cup for 6-8 potatoes?). I also add a bit of chopped bacon to DH's, and stuff the mixture back into the skins. Put a little more cheese on top of each, cover baking pan with foil, and bake at 350 for about 30 minutes.

Ham is our traditional Easter and Christmas dinner. We always have the same thing: Pineapple slices (Baked on top of the ham), homemade macaroni and cheese, green beans, harvard beets, corn and rolls/butter plus pickles/olives.

At Easter we have homemade potato salad with our ham. The cheese potatoes sound great!

There's not anything much better with ham than mashed potatoes! I usually do potatoes, something green, baked apples and either rolls or biscuits.

You have some great suggestions already. I do have an idea if you end up with leftover ham (we always do!). I like to mix cheese tortellini with chopped ham, baby peas and alfredo sauce. I top it with some parmesan cheese. It's yum.

Cheesy *hashbrown pattie* potatos!! Let the patties thaw a bit and break 'em up in chunks - add chunks to a mixture of Cream o Chicken soup *2 small cans I think* 1 small/regular container of sour cream and a cup of shredded cheddar cheese. I top this with a mixture of crushed corn flakes and melted butter. Bake in a 9 x 13 at 350 for an hour.
