I have offered to make a meal for a friends family who has a family member in the hospital. I signed up for Macaroni and Cheese and a dessert , but I'd like to know what else should I make to go along with the dish.... I was thinking Kielbasa , meatballs or a small sliced ham. What would you make?
Thanks:thumbsup2

I like ham with Mac 'n Cheese..

It's very nice of you to do that..:goodvibes

Ham is a good idea... I usually make meatloaf.

I was also going to suggest meatloaf!

Another vote for ham.

OT - We like the same names. LOL My boys are also named Ryan & Sean - same spelling. Are you Irish also? I am on my dad's side. :)

We like to have ham baked IN the mac&cheese. Mmmm!

Mmm, I may be no help as I'm a vegetarian but I would like some nice steamed veggies to go with the mac and cheese.
Hope your friend is Ok.

Ham is good and so is meat loaf and a baked chicken. Nice of you to do this!

The kielbasa and ham sound great. But also a maybe a little broccoli. cut pretty small. Cooked so it is a still a little crunchy.

I agree, I generally make kielbasa or polish sausage. If you need a homemade mac and cheese recipe that's slap you're grandma good, I have it :thumbsup2

Fried chicken or baked chicken. Some kind of chicken! Or pork chops.

I made macaroni and cheese tonight and served it with Harvard Beets. The other vegie I think of as going with mac and cheese is green beans.

I voted for fried chen or ham. Yummmm. It's great you are helping out your friend.:flower3:

Thanks for all your replies....I still can't make up my mind! The chicken and meatloaf also sound so good! Too many choices....I'm planning on making it Thursday nite and delivering it to their house on Friday , so I do have a few more days to decide. I think now, that i'll make a side if veggies, too !:thumbsup2

Yes, Tink888....I love those names and I do hear of them often "going together"....I'm 100% Irish,(my father is from Ireland, too) and that's probably why I'm not that good of a cook, us Irish aren't known for our cooking abilities ,ha,ha,ha !:lmao:

Can someone explain what Kielbasa is? I have never heard of it or eaten it.

I used to love eating hotdogs with mac and cheese, or maybe you could make some baked beans with it.

Its sort of like a hot dog only bigger and fatter-
As far as a dish to go with mac and cheese , when we have macand cheese that IS the meal, we never have anything with it.
