What to do?

We are a family of five me, DH DS7 DD5 DS3. Will usually do the regular DDP but this year we are deciding against it because it just did not work out well on our last trip. My question is we eat mostly table services and maybe one or 2 character meals. Do we wing it this time or get the counter service dining plan? We are also DVC and have annual pass.

If you eat mostly Table Service, why would you want the Counter Service plan? If you eat mostly table service you should really consider the deluxe dining plan.

Get the DDP. With the ages of your kids, this is a real bargain.

We may have better advice for you if we knew why the DDP didn't work well for you last time.

I would not suggest the CS plan based on what you've posted, my guess is that you'll want to do no plan and pay OOP, but it's hard to say for sure.

I am sorry I meant to say we eat mostly counter service and the reason it didn't work for us last time was we were rushing to make dining reservations because we felt we had to because they were prepaid. Most nights we ate at the BC marketplace, going in to your own pocket for tips was a pain. I just plain out didn't like it. I have always liked it in the past but not since they changed it with no tip and no app. SO i was wondering since next trip I only plan on eating counter and maybe one or two sit downs should I go ahead and get the counter plan or just wing it.

You might really like the CS plan! See what you would order when you go - desserts can occasionally make or break the plan. If the numbers look close, then I'd definitely go with the plan. The snacks and refillable mug will help you get even more value from the plan than just looking at the CS meals.
