What to do with ressie/points for shortened visit

We have a couple of 5 day ressies made for our trip later this month, one for my parents. It turns out that now (due to unforseen circumstances) they are only going to be able to visit for 3 days.
My question is what to do with the room after they leave (with two more days left on the ressie). I don't want to put the points in the holding account.
We do have some other family that will be at another resort, is it possible to have take over the room after my parents leave? If so how would we goabout doing so?

You won't get the room cleaned unless you pay for it. So anyone coming in for the last two nights will have to use the room as it is. Just let DVC know that the guests staying in the room will change after three nights so you can get new room keys for them. You might want your folks not to have charging included on their room IDs so the new guests charges don't get put on their credit card.

That might work. Maybe we could just pay for cleaning that day
