Somewhere around here I saw a thread about using Home Depot Disney paint chips with the mickey mouse head shape on them as a way to recognize other DISboard members when at the parks and resorts. Alien Green is the preferred color but there is 2 other lime greens that would work if the paint chips are gone or whatever. Also to put either these lime green mickeys or a larger sized one in your resort room window. And, put your user name on them...and then WHAT DO WE DO WITH THEM???? Do we put them on our stuff? Our kids? Our refiillable mugs? Wear them like earrings? WHAT? And....what if I wallpaper our bodies and everything and NO ONE says "HEY DIS board family....You're that CRAZY Utahmama...we've been DYING to meet you in person...can we have your autograph?" (Just kidding) Has ANYONE ever met up with or saw these lime green mickeys in action? Wouldn't that just add a little "sumpin" in the trip report??? I guess after my rant... my question is 1) What to we do with the LGM (lime green mickeys) and 2) DO people really do this????

Waiting at the rope drop at MGM during our recent trip, I saw someone with one on her backpack that had "DIS" written across it ... but I was too shy to approach her  . In retrospect, I should have said something to her, everyone here is so nice.

I laminated mine, hole punched it, and tied it to my backpack with sparkly (pixie dust) ribbon I found at Michael's for $1 a spool. We also taped some to our door. I let the kids tape them on, but ours were "mousenapped" ... AARGH!

I think they will be good for scrap booking .

According to the other threads on this board, the "official unofficial most-desired Mickey paint chip color" is Alien Green. Now, I found this thread tonight after I had my kids raid the Home Depot in our area (boys and girls somehow look a little more at home taking mickey shaped samples than an adult woman) and they picked up one of every color... we got 'em home, dumped out the loot on the kitchen table, and low and behold, Alien Green is not in the bunch. :confused3 Apparently, there are other DisBoarders paint-chip thieves about in our area which makes me nervous... Think I'm going to start locking the door to protect my stolen paint chips from any would be robbers :goodvibes

Anyway... there is no rule saying we have to be Alien green is there? I love Mickey Pants Red, Storytime Blue and of course Bouncy Bouncy :tigger:.

What we need is a good sized assortment of ideas to use these paint chips on.

I vote Wall boarders, Coasters (laminate first) and DD has already taken half the bounty and headed off to make a mickey collage out of one of my cool Target-find frames.

Yeah! I'm so glad I asked!!! We took the other cleverly named paint chips and made a countdown chart...let's see...today is 48 more days!!!! So if you see a bunch of kids plastered in alien green mickey's (like the post-its on Bruce Almighty) dont be shy...say hi! :thumbsup2

I will put mine on my backpack and stroller, so if you see me in January... don't be shy and say HI! I will do the same... :goodvibes
By the way anyone else going in January... I will be there from Dec.31 to Jan 14th... Hope to see some of you there... would be cool.

Looking to see if anyone else posted the "club"! :goodvibes

I just picked up a bunch and I am using those free return address labels that non-profits send out. I am putting the address label across the Mickey head so that the little picture on the left is not on the color. Then, I am cutting around the Mickey heads so that the picture on the label is cut off altogether. Then, I am taking 2 of the Mickey heads and putting them back to back and laminating them, punching a hole at the top, and using them for backpack and luggage tags.

The boys even like the way they look, and you can use any color Mickey head you want...lime green, or a pink or red for the girls, or a blue or black for the boys. :wizard:

ETA: You could also use them to glue around the wooden frame of a corkboard and paint or draw an outline a big Mickey head on the corkboard itself and that should look cute!
