We would love to stay at WL when we go, but without a discount code we couldn't afford it. I saw that last year they had discounts during the time we would be there. What to do? Do we book the room hoping for the codes? Then call to have the code applied to the room? Do we wait to book and see if a code comes out, or would that be too late in getting a ressie? We will be arriving the Saturday night after Thanksgiving.

Just toying with numbers on mousesavers, buying an AP might be beneficial. What do you guys think?

I'm looking for an answer to this question also. We plan on going to the GF the weekend after Thanksgiving and am wondering what the bst way to handle this is.

That is what I'll do.

I booked a savannah view for nine nights in December, at DC rate (AAA always gives you exactly the same discount, by the way). But as time approaches, I'll look out for codes for those dates.

Some years AP rates were better, others the discount wasn't as impressive. If the rates for your dates are the best, then buy APs. In my case, such discount would save me $400.
It actually saves me $800, but I have to put close to $400 to switch our HPs to APs.

Just make sure you take the time to add up all the numbers. When you end up with extra hundreds or thousands of dollars saved, it is research time well spent!

I am not one to keep too much loyalty if I don't get the best quality and value, I search all over for the best prices and if a non-traditional alternative gives me a better deal, I'll take that. So, although I plan to swap our HPs for APs, I won't do it unless I can get the best rates and make sure I can get my money's worth. Normally with APs you do get very fine rates in the resorts. And if you can get to the parks a few more times during the year, you're in the gravy!

We're kind of in the same boat. I'm really counting on having a discount for our Dec. 2003 trip but I wanted to make sure I had a room so we booked through Dreams b/c they check periodically throughout the year to get you the best rate possible using whatever codes might be out at the time. I like that about them so that I don't have to deal with CRO - first of all - and also so that I won't be scared of missing out on anything. We've also decided to get 1 AP to hopefully take advantage of what will hopefully be great discounts.

I think if you did a search you could probably get an idea of approximately what kind of discounts were offered (I'm hoping for 40% with an AP) and either keep on the lookout for codes or go through Dreams like I did!
