So, if you were in Chicago for 2 days what would you do?? It would be midweek. 2 full days. There would be a teenager along and we don't really enjoy art galleries and such. It also will be spring- so summer things won't apply.

Navy Pier has so much to see and do. other than that. :confused3 since he doesn't like the museums. they are wonderful.

go to www.digitalcity.com and put in the dates you be here and that will give you some ideas. If you tell us your interest I can definately help you. Are you staying downtown?

Another vote for Navy Pier -- much of it is indoors and it's a great place to people watch. Shedd Aquarium and Field Museum are just a short cab ride away from Navy Pier (not sure if the free Trolleys will be running that early). Also, a little further away, but worth the trip, is the Museum of Science and Industry. Lots of hands on activities for teens and adults alike.

The Museum of Science and Industry is awesome for people of all ages. My DD is 7yrs old and loves it there!!

Another place to go is Water Tower Place if you want to do some shopping.

Check out the Budget Board - a whole thread was on this.

With a teenager - why not check out the Six Flags in Gurnee (north of Chgo - easy to get to) Although Im not a 6 Flags fan - I will admit this park having some killer roller coasters! :smokin:

I have posted these links in the past, they are helpful. Enjoy the city.........

I will definetly check out the Budget Board. I don't think six flags will be open at the end of February yet-- right??

I haven't booked a hotel-- here's why---

We are supposed to be going to D.C. w/ my parents the end of February. It's looking more and more like they're back out. My mom changes the subject everytime I bring it up. I asked again last night if she looked into the dog kennel for her and my dog. Nope--- she's not booking until I know what I'm doing......I thought we knew what we were doing. I will have to say she's not 100% crazy-- we were supposed to go to Disney today (booked it back in August) w/ them. Only DS broke his leg in September and missed a lot of school. So, by mid-Nov. it was obvious we were not going to be able to pull him from school for a week to take the WDW trip. Airfare was too high for my parents in February and they wouldn't drive to Florida. So, in Nov. we decided to go to D.C. in February (when ds is off for a week). It's not WDW--but a vacation anywhere is better than no vacation. No, I understand we had to cancel- but I thought she understood. She lost nothing on the WDW trip-- I ate the loss for anything since it was "our fault".

So, now she's acting all snitty like we're going to cancel on the D.C. trip so she doesn't want to book anything.

So, basically if they don't go then we're going to go to Chicago instead along w/ other mid-west sites we want to see.

I apologize - I didnt see the month... :confused3

Teenage Boy, right? Go to Nike Town on Michigan Avenue - http://niketown-locator.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/niketown_locator.cfg/php/loc/enduser/details.php ITS HUGE, and although it a store, its more than that. Its super cool and my boys love it.

Go to eat at Ed's: http://www.epinions.com/rest-Restaurants-All-Ed_Debevic_s/display_~reviews Think Prime Time Cafe, with an edge. Same sort of silly service. My boys adore this place. (One asked for more vinegar for his salad, so the server brought the econo-Sams Club sized jug out, and slapped it on the table - "Is this enuff for ya??" And had allll the servers in the place come by, one by one "Freak!" "How much Vinegar to you need, you weirdo!" It was very funny!

when i have out of town company come in i always take them to either the sears tower or john hancock observation deck.

and depending on the season, we take them to a sporting event in the city.

i am too tired of navy pier/downtown shopping etc.

i hit the museum on the free days and when it has a new exhibit.

dan gave you good links to check out. you will find something.
