What to do.......book now or wait?

You're back! What are you doing wasting time answering my question when you could be writing your trip report :lmao::lmao::lmao:

Thank you for encouraging me.......I've been number crunching all day and am considering Sequioa Lodge over HNY - but in summer we absolutely must have air con.

Might need to test my nerves and see if a flash sale appears.

I've done my highs and lows lol, starting trip report very soon I promise!!
You know how much I love HNY - I was quite worried I wouldnt like the Sequoia Lodge but it was amazing because its just been refurbed. Our room was gorgeous. I would go so far as to say I'm not sure I could justify the price jump to stay in HNY again because there wasnt much difference in quality. Great value! I'm pretty sure our room also had a digital air con control thingy but we didnt use it - you could contact them and ask though.

Thanks, but it's this July they want to go!!:scared1:

Oops

Did you get your price from online or phoning up? As I'm sure someone said the other day that when they phoned for a price in July they were still given the extra 15% discount.

Still a bit O/T but don't worry, I've given myself a slap. ;)
Luckily, I've managed to get the free Houses of Parliament
We did this last summer and it was really interesting, the guide was a WWII veteran and he was brilliant, especially with the girls! Would have liked to do the Big Ben tour too but we couldn't fit it in so that'll have to be another time - would love to hear what you think of it.

ILOVEDLP - thankyou I'm hoping to get some restaurant deals from the daysoutguide, it's the next big expense I need to budget for and Ms Poppins has reminded me I need to sort out Oyster cards :thumbsup2
Jill, I've got a map left over from our hotel last month which has got 20% off at various restaurants. PM me your address and I'll post it to you. Also, don't know whether you are thinking of eating at Rain Forest Cafe but if you like them on Facebook they keep sending 15% off food offers, we used this last month - shame it wasn't 15% off drinks too!!

We all loved London last year and will definitely go back - but comparing it to Disney it's not really all that much more.......please agree with me......someone......I'm really not trying to convince myself of anything :rolleyes1

I agree with you ::yes:: we spent 5 days in London for our summer hols last year and, travel aside as provided we book early enough we can get Greyhound tickets for as little as £1, I think we probably spent more overall than we would have done on a Disney holiday.

I don't really think you need all that much convincing, do you? And remember, London's so much easier to get to than Disney so can be done anytime! ;)

my rule when buying something is never check the price again once i bought it. same goes with hotel / holiday reservation. this saves a lot of regrets later.

I'm exactly the same ::yes:: I work on the principle that if I'm willing to pay the price then I must be happy with it. The price may go down but it could also go up and who's to say there will still be availability if you leave it too late. Anyhow, you can't put a price on happy memories! :goodvibes

Well, what a day - pricing up everywhere. The week we want is an absolute fortune, 3 nights at HNY and eurostar = over 3K :lmao:

The next week I can get the hotel with 25% off but the eurostar is full. Thought about driving, but really not keen. So - have decided, we will just wait to see if any offers after this one and if not it will be London.

I am so annoyed - we could have booked this months ago, but everyone wanted to wait until Halloween - now that we've all started talking about it I really, really, really want to go for summer ;)

Is there no cheap flights from Glasgow that you could get ? Might be cheaper than Eurostar without having the travelling down as well :)

No such thing as a cheap flight from Glasgow - for the dates I need it's about £800 and that doesn't include checking in any bags! The flight times are a bit rubbish too.

No doubt I'll keep checking tomorrow - I'll be sacked by the end of the week :rotfl:

Thats rubbish :( I got our flights at a good price but I booked in Feb so thats probably why. Keep us posted, hope you can find a way to do it!

Just a few money saving thoughts for London trips, it's worth signing up to the group buying sites like Groupon, Living Social etc as they often do deals on attractions, tours, dining and all sorts of random things!

Time Out also do a great guide to cheap eats in London and for cheap things to do in town - http://www.timeout.com/london/feature/997/londons-best-cheap-eats

If not already signed up to the emails then check moneysavingexpert.com for news on 2 for 1s on things like London Eye etc.

London is crazily expensive for visitors - makes DLP seem like a bargain!

Thanks for all the London tips:thumbsup2

Decided we will hold our nerve until this offer ends. I have the time off, some money put aside (luckily) so will be ready to go at the drop of a hat if a decent offer appears.

Keeping everything crossed ;)

Crossing everything for you :goodvibes
What about flying from a different airport? Maybe travelling down the night before and staying in a travelodge? If the flights are so much from Glasgow you could save a packet going from somewhere else

Tried a few other airports and either times don't suit or too much - I know it's too late to expect a good price.

Price on dlp website has changed very slightly for our dates and now showing 15% off (which it hadn't before, even though there is supposed to be a discount for July).

Thanks everyone for your good advice :thumbsup2

Just need to wait and see.....
