not sure what to do, have the air tickets and the MVMCP tickets but not the rooms, have been waitlisted at my home Wilderness, also at OKW and AKL for a studio or 1 bedroom, for Dec 2-7th

sad thing is I called right on the 11 months day and it was all filled up and so was the rest, this is a first for me and of course I am not travel solo this time:confused3 so what to do.....

or do you think alot of members have double and triple booked until they get the rooms they want....

  yes they called today with a studio for the full time at my home in Wilderness, I am sooo happy:cool1: now I have to cancel my Pop Century room, so there is hope everyone:woohoo:

just to let everyone know when I called I was told we could not add day by day had to do the full time frame, only cause you could end up with a room at each different resort with the way the system is now going to work.. and I did not want take all my time moving LOL

:wizard: spreading pixie dust for all others waiting on the list :wizard:

I think that some members double book. I know we have. With the new wait list policy, multiple wait lists will become a thing of the past and chances that one of your wait lists may come through will improve.

I'd call CRO and book something on property and pay the one nights deposit to hold it. If your waitlist comes through, you can always cancel and get your money back. If it doesn't, at least you have a place to stay.

Wow, I'm sorry to read that you've no room, and at 11 months out!

I would also book something with CRO, and I do hope your waitlist comes through!

Can you explain how you double book and why?? When I have multiple waitlists I only have one room booked but I take whatever waitlist come in and that is only one room.:confused3 I am not trying to be funny I really do not understand. Thanks!

If I thought/hoped that family/friends would be joining us I would double book. Then at around 2-3 months out I would try to be sure of the company, and if not, then I would cancel the room I don't need. So there may be some rooms out there that would be cancelled because of that scenerio.

We went last year at that time. We went on to the wait list in August, and we got the reservations. The big difference is that we were willing to stay at any WDW DVC studio. We spent 6 days at SSR and one at BCV.

You are really hurting your chances of going by not including SSR.

I agree. Because of the size and possibly new buildings coming, including this in the waitlist mix would help.

I'm with rahrah; waitlist at SSR, too (unless you have, and just left it out of your post). Something may come through, and the more possibilities you have, the better your odds! :thumbsup2
And ITA that a back-up reservation w/CRO should be a fall-back.

Best of luck, and pixiedust: .

i would hang in there, members are canceling there ressies from arriving july thru next year, because they are booking AKL. you should be able to get something and you are flexable to stay anywhere. did you trying calling ms and see what they had open for AKL, i heard non AKL owners were able to call yesterday and book rooms.

Wow, hope something comes thru for you:wizard:

curious, did you book day-by-day and link?

I have been seeing a lot of rooms open up since people are moving to AKV. I would call everyday and check! I called last week for an October studio anywhere and they didn't have anything. I called this morning and had my choice of SSR, OKW, and VWL! Shocked!! But DH has given me the go ahead for an add on at BWV so our money is going towards that instead of an October trip.But... 11 month window here we come!! :yay:

HOW is this possible at 11 months????

I am waitlisted for the same week.. it is Mousefest and a wonderful time to visit WDW.. so they are booked..hoping they will open up..

HOW is this possible at 11 months????

I'm wondering the same thing. I hope someone can explain.

As far as waitlisting coming through, I only have one experience with this but it came thru 30 days prior to the date. I believe that people cancel just prior to the 30 days because of the restrictions put on the points when you cancel after that.

We are also on the wait list for a delayed add on, for a studio at any DVC for the first week of December. We called the first hour of the 7 mo. timeframe and nothing was available anywhere.

We are on a wait list for first available. Now I have not called every day to see if something has come available because I figured if something becomes available they would call me.

I have read on this board that some people virtually stalk Disney to check this everyday, maybe if I called every day, I just might get something?

I can't help but wonder that if other people are calling every day they might accidentially :) get the reservation time slot I am looking for, while I patiently sit on the waitlist.

So if I really want this room, should I call every day? What would you do?:confused3

I ran into this for Memorial day. I was placed on a waitlist. However when I called one day to check, lo and behold MS said hold on for a second and he came back on the line and said they had the days, not only for points but also for member discount. Would I have gotten these if I waited and not called, I don't think so. I am a firm believer now of calling to check. You never know. I do believe there may have been others on the wait list before me and I do not think they had gotten their days yet. I would definitely call, I may not call every day but I would call atleast every other day.

what are the new waitlist rules? I have waitlisted before but not sure what has changed.

I booked our upcoming vacation 6/23 - 7/3 about 120 days out -first I booked 6/23 - 6/30 2 bed OKW and was wait-listed for 2 days during the 8 day span for the 2 bed but had a 1 bed reserved for the 2 missing days - Member Services called with space about 95 days out.

Then we decided to extend our stay to the 3rd. Not all the time was available. We wait listed again with an 'automatic' approval. Member Services booked the room as soon as it became available without calling me because I authorized the automatic approval. It was done within 2 weeks of calling.

MS explained to me that they had a dedicated team just working on the wait list and that they did it logically - looked at the whole picture not just first come first serve. So, because we had 8 days booked with 2 holes in it, the team would see that and fill it. I think it also helped that we had an automatic approval on file ( borrowing, too, so they knew we were 'serious' not randomly booking time just in case we might decide to take a trip) My reservation looks like Swiss cheese but I am please with the way MS handled the entire transaction and pleased that they are using logic to allocate the time.
