What to do about bed wetter

So DS (just turned 4) sometimes leaks through his pull-ups at night. I will be pretty mortified if this happens on our trip while at the AofA, but with all the kids at Disney, I can't imagine I'm the only one with this concern or who has had to deal with this before. If you have a heavy wetter at night, have you done anything to really, really try to keep the hotel room bed dry? It's not a matter of "oh, just put him in pull-ups for the trip" as he's not night time potty trained at all. Most of the time it's not an issue, but sometimes there are a few nights in a row where I have to change sheets in the morning. My only thoughts are to have him sleep on disposable bed pads and just hope he doesn't wiggle off of them during the night. I'd love your experiences!

I found the specific night time pull ups were more absorbent than the ones meant for day use. You could get the disposable pee-pad/chux pads to put over the bedding to use as an extra layer of protection. We used them many times. Some have adhesive but we used them many times without peeling that off.

What about nighttime pull-ups (GoodNites by Huggies, Pull-Ups Nighttime or UnderJams by Pampers)? My daughter was daytime potty trained by 2 1/2, but was a heavy bedwetter until last fall, and the GoodNites worked really well for her. She only leaked a couple of times. If you still think he might leak, or for extra peace of mind, you can use them in conjunction with disposable bed mats (Huggies makes some).

Thanks. I currently use the nighttime pull-ups. He would absolutely freak out if I made him do overnight diapers for a week, so I guess I'll stick with the disposable bed pad+pull-up combo,

I have one of those......you just go to the adult absorbent underwear section of target/walmart/etc and they had absorband bed pads. Just put one under your child for extra protection. we bring these to every hotel or family house we stay at, just in case.

Do NOT buy the ones near the pullups....they are smaller and about twice as expensive.

Or just buy an extra waterproof mattress pad for the trip.

Buy some Chux. (Those are the large disposable pads used in hospitals.) Just put one under him and you should be fine.

The Depends brand sell disposable bed pads. They are soft and quiet. Just place one under your child in case of accidents..

We've had our kids put on two nighttime pull-ups and bring a bed pad to put under the sheets. Just don't forget to grab it when checking out, we've left them behind on many occasions!

I will be bringing chux pads that I found in the pull-up section at target. I have an occasional bed wetter, so we use them any time we're at a hotel or resort.

There was a thread on here a while back that had some good idea. One was to let the staff know and they would put a water proof cover on the mattress. Another suggested a cheap shower liner between the sheet and the mattress. I think the main thing is to protect the mattress so you do not get charged with damage. Be sure to ask for extra sheets in case you need them in the middle of the night. Many people do find that bed wetting increases at WDW because kids are over tired, drink more and are more likely to have caffeine.

Want to wake him up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom?

By the way they make electronic bedwetting alarms that sense moisture, but that is one extra item you need to bring with you.

We had to move from night time pullups to Good Nights for my DS. They look the same, same concept, so maybe your little one wouldn't notice the difference.

I use a diaper doubler with my son. You get them at Babies R Us in the diaper section. It looks like a maxi pad with no backing. Add it to the pull up and it will absorb twice as much.

I've found the Goodnites brand to be far more absorbent than nighttime pull ups.
Use that plus one or two Goodnites bedmats and he should be fine.

Check out goodnites.com

I have used these disposable bed pads as extra protection along with pull-ups in hotel beds.
