What to book & when (Escape)

We hope to get married in just under 18 months, we know what we want to do and where etc and have contacted DFTW, I've drawn up a rough budget but the only thing i've actually booked is Randy

So my question is what should I book next and in what order and by when?

I was able to get penciled in for sunset point at one year out, I then booked Randy for photography and then Stan with STVSweddings.com for videography within a few days of contacting DFTW. I took a little more time to book our officiant because I wanted to find someone that 'fit' with us.

We're planning on an August 09 wedding and have booked Randy, as well as our 'at home' reception venue. I've also chosen and ordered my dress (did those last two at about 18 months out).

I called DFTW and they told me another useful thing I could be doing is making sure I had all the addresses for the guests who we're inviting the ceremonies, as they will then send invitations out.

I'm making my own invitations for the reception, so need to get moving on those, although I have my design sorted.

Now I'm just waiting till a year to the day to make the call - only a month to go!!

That's probably what she meant on the phone. We don't need proper invites, or really even save the dates, for the ceremony but it will be nice.

i just thought it was wishes weddings that got them not the escape ones?

I could be wrong, we are having a wishes wedding thats why we got them

Oh well, I guess I will see when I call back. She knew I was asking about Escape, so maybe she just got it wrong. I'm really not bothered if we don't get them!

Yep, I was told Escape brides do not get save the dates or anything sent out for their guests...only Wishes brides....

oh well! no biggie! It's all good!

Mostly work on research. Gather addresses, pick out invites, find a dress, pick out a cake, etc. There's not much else you can officially do right now - frustrating but if you do too much now you'll change your mind - at least I did!
