What time is your room usually ready?

We take the same flight year after year and usually arrive at the resort by 1:30 pm. There is only one time (Beach Club) where we didn't walk right into our room...and I'm talking 50 plus trips! After reading everything here, I think I should count my blessings and hope I haven't just jinxed myself.

When we're staying at AKV...our room usually isn't ready until 4pm or close to it. Anwhere else we've stayed, it seems like our room is ready as soon as we get there. And most of those times we've arrived before noon. So it seems like AKV is the one place that we don't have luck.

We typically arrive about noon or a little after.....KNOCK on Wood....our room is typically ready. Our vacations take place in October though....so I wouldn't expect it to be ready in the Summer months before 3pm.

We have only had two DVC stays so far. Last July, 2010 at VGC and this past June at BLT, both times the room was ready by 1 pm. We are going again at Thanksgiving, BWV not expecting such luck then.

At SSR our room was ready early, 11am. At BWV it was ready by 4pm and when we moved over to BCV it was ready at 4pm unless we wanted a handicap accessible room so I said no, just in case someone else were to need it (the handicap accessible room met our guidelines of what I put in room request which was low floor, close to elevator etc.) so we waited til about 3 or 4pm for our room to be ready.

I've found at BWV it's usually mid afternoon.

At OKW it's earlier - once our room was ready at 8AM!

The ONLY thing about VB that I'll say which isn't stellar...is that without failure the Beach Cottages never seem to be ready untill after 4pm.

We have been very lucky with our rooms so far. Never had a DVC room ready after 2:00 pm yet.

Of course, I have a feeling that this time we will because we are staying in a BW view 2 bedroom at BWV and a SV 2 bedroom at BLT. Popular rooms and I am sure booked so we will be waiting.

And, because we can't do online check in (segmented and split stay trip), we can't even give them an idea of what time we will arrive.

I have never had a problem getting into my room when we have arrived. The key is to avoid weekend check in. We always arrive on a weekday.

It sounds like we are due for a little luck. Hopefully it comes this trip.

We have a two bedroom OKW HH villa booked. When we check in can I ask that we get the first OKW HH villa that is ready or are the rooms already assigned before you even arrive. I've never really understood that. Other than requesting certain sections of SSR, I'm not one to make special room requests. I just want my darned room!!!!

I don't think any of us really understand how rooms get assigned. A couple of years ago, it was obvious that OKW was using the "room ready" method. Now, who knows?

The only thing I can say is that you have an HH villa reserved, so you are dealing with a smaller inventory of rooms. It may be that only a few of them are opening up on the day you check in, and then Disney is at the mercy of last minute (or late ) check-outs for those rooms before they can get in and clean.

BWV really has me spoiled. In my many trips there (I've lost count, not sure of the exact number), there has only been once where we've had to wait until after 10AM (yes, 10AM!) for our room to be ready. We get to BWV between 9-10AM, and the room has been ready and waiting for us all but once. Love BWV!

We are doing the exact same the week after you. We are getting in to OKW on the 19th with our flight landing at 10AM if our room isn't ready then we will head over to Downtown Disney to kill some time before the room is ready.

When I booked this trip I thought "Are we nuts going down in August!?" But seeing the summer we've had, it might actually be cooler down there.

That's what DH and I plan to do. Go DD and get some lunch. The kids can take off to a park. If the room isn't ready after lunch and the pool, we'll go ahead and get a taxi to take us to the grocery store.

Went to AKL in July 2011 and checked in about 10:30am and didn't get into our room until 7:30pm. It was a 2 bedroom but still felt that it took way to long to clean. Going back there in September in a 1 bedroom and hoping to have better luck.

I'm really not paranoid but the longer we've been members the later it is that we get in the room. Members since 1993.
