If you're taking Disney transportation from a Disney hotel, then don't worry about it. You'll get there when the bus gets there and you'll go through testing and check in and boarding without waiting around.
Usually, when you don't have to select a port arrival time, you'll be given boarding group 2, which is the first non-concierge group.
Not necessarily. I just checked in a few days ago and was given boarding group 5, despite using Disney transfers from the Hyatt & not having to select a PAT.

Weird. I wish that they'd be consistent about this! I checked in about two weeks late last time and I still got boarding group 2 when I took the bus from the Hyatt.

I'm glad someone asked this, I have been wondering the same thing. We are using DCL transport from the Hyatt.
I think the other benefit of checking in early is getting time in the kids club, right?
And for my cruise, there are some SWDAS meet and greets that also open 30 days out. I am thinking at midnight that night I will prioritize the SWDAS meet and greets, and then do online check-in after. I am thinking/hoping if I don't get around to the check-in til the next day it won't be the end of the world.
