We leave in 9 days :cool1: :cool1: We have a countdown calendar, we have watched tons of disney movies, we have been all over the web looking at disney pictures and getting familiar with characters, we are going to watch Pirates of the Carribbean over then go and see 2--so is their anything else that you guys did with your kids before you went to get/keep them super excited? :woohoo:

We do the same things. Plus, look at old pictures of us at Disney remembering our past trips, video's of past trips, sing Disney songs, they look through the different guidebooks. I have them write down their top 10 things they want to see and do. We drive straight down to Disney so on the way down we play the Alphabet game, but using only Disney names, rides, characters and such for the Alphabet. We also cheer as we go over each state line and look at the different license plates we see.

We do the same as you - watch our past trips, look at last year's pix, but this time we also go to google video and started watching other people video taped the rides - it's totally awesome and you feel like you are right in the next seat with them. I don't know how some of them video taped the ToT - but it was great! It's truly like you are sitting on the ride. We have "rode" Mission Space, Test Track, ToT, RRC, and even Alien Encounter right from the comfort of our chairs :teeth: And every night at 9pm we watch Illuminations or Wishes. It really gets me, my DD13 and DH excited for our Jan 07 trip and we usually spend the night watching the computer screen instead of the tv :goodvibes

As the years have gone on, our pre-trip prep has changed. We usually go over our schedule and because our trips are built around our meals, we review restaurant menus to be sure we get what we want.

My kids are older now (DD17 DD19) so I don't know who this may work for but I send them e-mails about once a week. I title them "Disney fun Facts" and give the days left until travel and a few strange things I'll find on the net.

Did you know at WDW security unlocks over 1500 cars a week for guests? Free of charge.
Just stuff like that. They love it and if I should miss a week they let me know about it.

There was one little problem however. My DD17 is a TA for her English teacher. I did not know that she would check her mail from his pc during class. It turns out he was always asking her if I had sent any new "fun facts" that week because he liked to hear them. Well, this one week I had changed things up a bit and decided to make up my own top 10 list. So, she opens the e-mail and see's it's one of my top 10 lists and tells him we got a top ten list here this should be funny. Funny it was .... the first on the list was about her "crushin" on this HOT teacher she was a TA for.

She sat at the bar in the kitchen half crying half laughing as she told us the story of the worst moment in her life and vowed to get even with me.
