What "SPECIAL" place would you pick to eat at for your arrival afternoon/night?

We are currently booked for Chef Mickey's but really rethinking the decision. Is there some other place with character interaction that would be a better option for our arrival late afternoon/early evening? Thanks for any input :)

Early evening:

You might enjoy LTT at MK for a character Thanksgiving meal. The characters are alot of fun there-especially Chip & Dale.

You might also consider the character meal at 1900 Park Fare at the GF. These are speaking characters like Cinderella, Prince Charming, Lady Tremaine, the wicked stepsisters and they are supposed to be really funny and entertaining!!

Have you thought of 1900 Park Fare?? It's located in the Grand Floridian, I believe for dinner they have a character meal with Cinderella...

That's where we're going :) because we love visiting the Grand Floridian! Yes it's Cinderella and co for dinner.
But I think Chef Mickey's is a great choice too - totally gets you in the fun disney mood!

We also picked Chef Mickey for our first day in because it is not in a park and you get to meet Mickey right off the bat. However, if you would prefer speaking characters 1900 park fare may be the way to go, or maybe a show.

We are eating at Sci-Fi and then going to see Fantasmic! (Sci-Fi is not part of the Fantasmic dinner pkg, but we don't mind getting in line for Fantasmic!).

We always do Liberty Tree Tavern in the Magic Kingdom for our dinner on our first night. The food is served family-style, so you don't have to bother with a buffet on your first night. The food has always been consistently good for us, and the character interaction is great! The longest time we've ever had to wait was about 10 minutes past our ADR time. And, then, when we're through with dinner, we're in the Magic Kingdom! :cool1: The only thing that's missing is Mickey!

I've often thought about switching to Chef Mickey's for our first night, but the dinner buffet gets mixed reviews. Plus, LTT has kind of become our "first night" tradition. We always have breakfast at Chef Mickey's later in our week.

Yep, that is what we have an ADR for. Really looking forward to it. We will be arriving on 21st! Can't wait!!

We always do LeCellier and Illuminations our first night, though it does not have characters. We have made this a family tradition. Whereever you choose, if you return to WDW, it's very comforting to re-visit that place on the first night each time.

The first park we visit each trip is the Magic Kingdom....we always have lunch at the Plaza Restaurant.....we just usually grab something quick and run for breakfast!!

:goodvibes

We are headed to Chef Mickey's on our first night. My two stepsons (13 and 16) have never been to Disney. They are so excited about going to meet Mickey on the first night. So, since I got smiles and exitement out of teenagers, I feel like I made the right choice.

We did CM on our first day one trips and I really felt like it was an awesome start to our trip. It reallly puts you right into the Disney spririt. I think I would keep CM for your first day.

On my upcoming trip, and since we are staying at AKV, we are going to eat at Boma

depending on where we are staying, etc -- has to do with where we eat, flight arrival etc
