What song did you choose for the "first dance" at your wedding?

After reading Kitty 34's thread about what concerts you have seen, she listed The Association as one that she attended. That got me thinking, because we chose "Never My Love" by The Association for our first dance (24 years ago!). What song did you choose?

Wow- this is ironic. I have been trying to help a close friend make this decision recently. We have been sitting at work going to the best buy website and listening to songs. I'm interested to see what people's suggestions are :)

NC Beast and I picked "As Times Goes By" off the Sleepless in Seattle Soundtrack for our first dance (7/6/96) and our last dance was to "Can You Feel the Love Tonight" from the Lion King soundtrack/Elton John.

Wedding's not 'til next year, but our song is "Stand By Me". He proposed to it, so it seems appropriate.

Could I Have This Dance by Anne Murray.

All My Life by Linda Ronstadt & Aaron Neville(Oct 1992)

I heard True Companion by Marc Cohn for the first time a couple of years after we got married and both my husband and I would have chosen that one had we heard it prior to getting married-that's the one I always recommend to anyone who's looking for a wedding song.

Not married yet but I think this is an excellent choice. I love that song. :)

DBF and I claimed "Die Another Day" as our song when the film came out. It's also a link since we're long distance right now. We've also used "Love Don't Cost a Thing" by J.Lo,"Linkin Park's,"In the End",D-12 and Enimen

At Last by Etta James. A classic

I never had the wedding dance.

We didn't have a "first dance", but the song that was on when we walked into the reception was "I Got the World on a String" by Frank Sinatra. Summed up the euphoric feeling exactly! We did dance to an Elvis Costello song- "Sweet Pear", at the reception, but we were the only ones who knew it- had to provide the CD to the DJ!! DH looooves Elvis Costello, and, for Elvis, it was a pretty romantic song. Not many are!:hyper:

Our first dance was to When a Man Loves a Woman. During the ceremony we played Maybe I'm Amazed (gotta luv Paul McCartney) and we both still get googoo eyed whenever we hear them on the radio.

Our first dance that night was "Groovy Kind of Love" - Phil Collins....the last dance of the night was "Can I Have This Dance" - Anne Murray . While the last song was planned - what wasn't was everyone leaving the floor to let us dance it alone....sweet :)
