What song did you choose for the "first dance" at your wedding?

"It Had To Be You"...Harry Connick, Jr. Our story is that of When Harry Met Sally, which is when he proposed to me, so it had to be:D

First song:

"After All" Cher and Peter Satera

Last song, at reception:

"Time in a Bottle" by Jim Croce

We also had "Could I Have This Dance" by Anne Murray, I still think of our wedding every time I hear that song. Friends that got married 2 years ago had "Hero" by Enrique Iglesias.

We had "Could I Have This Dance" by Anne Murray too. I love that song.

Ditto!!! DH and I only dated for two months before we got engaged and we got married a year later so we felt that song was appropriate. We've been married 4 yrs this October.:goodvibes

LOL.....that was mine too....for my first marriage, in 1979.

For my second marriage we had a private wedding/family luncheon....then a big very informal bash with a DJ at a rented hall that night. The first song we danced to there was
Bonnie Raitt's "Let's Give Them Somthing to Talk About"
...our song (yes, it was an office romance) ;):o....then Anne Murray's "Could I Have This Dance" to be serious ;)

My stepdaughter and SIL had Shania Twain's "From This Moment", my DIL and stepson had Mary Chapin Carpenter's "Grow Old Along With Me". I really love that one, as well as Mark Cohn's "True Companion" mentioned earlier

Ours was one most of you have probably never heard of.

It was "Couldn't be better", by the Ozark Mountain Daredevils (most famous song was "Jackie Blue" in the mid 70s). Neat song about a guy waking up and looking at his wife in the morning light and realizing that life can't get any better than it is right now.

First wedding in 1971...'We've Only Just Begun' 2nd wedding in 1990...'I've had the time of my Life' from Dirty Dancing. That was really something to see!!!

We didn't dance at my wedding. We had a big reception at a private rather expensive restaurant near Chicago, but no dancing.:(

I love to dance, too!!!

Bballmom, I loved Cherish and Windy from the Association, too, but my all time favorite song from them was Everything That Touches You......that would have been my first song!!!::yes::

Van Morrison's Into the Mystic. :)

My Dad and I danced to Bob Dylan's Forever Young. :)

18 years ago this August. :)

our first dance was "Amazed" by Lonestar

afterwards we danced to "Melt" by Rascal Flatts and DH sang it to me...so sweet.

1 year in September. :lovestruc

Louis Armstorng, "What a Wonderful World."

I wanted to use "Beautiful" by Smashing Pumpkins but DW wouldn't let me. It really is a pretty song!

"Ribbons in the Sky" by Stevie Wonder It's a beautiful song that he wrote for his own wedding. We wanted something unique.

later we danced to "Something to Believe in" by the Bangles Very 1980's!
