Absolutely. They are doing just fine from song royalties on that song alone. I saw the lead singer perform the BBT theme song (and other songs) at a private party, just him and an acoustic guitar. Very nice guy.
I like the radio edit. That was all I had heard and I played it on a jukebox in a bar once. Like 10 minutes later I asked my sister who played this awful song, not realizing it was still this, and she told me it was me. Oops.
I'm still a big Southside Johnny fan! But growing up in Cleveland in the '70's and '80's, there was no group bigger than Michael Stanley Band. Not much on Youtube of them. Saw them at Blossom in the summer, the Coliseum New Year's Eve, etc.
I'd say t.A.T.u and their 200 km/h in the Wrong Lane album (multiple songs)
My best friend and I would play that on replay so many times just chillin'. After that album they kinda faded away from the popularity here but even this many years later my friend and I will randomly bring back some of those memories by listening to that and messaging back and forth about the those 'back in the day' stuff.
Danny Elfman ended up retiring due to hearing damage. However, Oingo Boingo may not have charted high, but they did a lot of touring in between Danny Elfman composing scores.
