What shampoo are you using?

I use ISO Purifying shampoo daily (to get out all the hair products I use) and I follow it up with either Rusk Calm or Aveda Shampure. I used to use store brand shampoo but my hair ALWAYS looked like crap. The one exception was when L'oreal was making "Hydravive" as part of their Vive line. It was the only one that did a good job. Of course, they discontinued it.

It just seems that my fine, limp hair cannot stand up to the storebought stuff.

WOW! I LOVE the ISO shampoos and conditioners!!! They are my favorite!!! I have to order it online because nobody around here sells it. My second fave is the Aveda Shampure line! I love how it smells! When I want to treat myself, I buy one of these two shampoos. I usually switch off one more expensive with 1 cheaper of either Suave or Panteen.

I was using nexxus, but this time I got suave and it seems to be working fine, when the cash frees up a little bit, i'll go back to nexxus.

For the money nothing beats Back to Basics. You can get a huge bottle of shampoo and conditioner for $22 at the beauty salon. I like Raspberry Almond. It makes my hair gorgeous!

We're using shampoo bars that we bought at Basin at Downtown Disney. We really like them so far. :)

leahannpen,
I really like the ISO stuff too and none of our salons seem to sell it either. But, my cousin is a hairstylist who works out of her home and she turned me onto it and also buys it for me when she visits the beauty supply place. Thank God for that or I don't know how I'd get it. And, it is quite inexpensive for a "salon" product.

Also, for anybody who has fine hair--I just bought a new product last week (not shampoo) and it is PHENOMENAL! Now, before I rave on about it, let me say that I have very fine textured hair but, fortunately, a lot of it. I wear my hair fairly short (almost shoulder length) and layered. So, I do not have a "flat" hairstyle-much as I would like too. So, I can't vouch that this product would work on that, but try the Aveda Sap Moss Styling Gel (it sprays on). Oh my gosh, I'm just thrilled with it. I had been getting my hair cut every four weeks because my hair was literally wilting. I was using Redken's Guts and Graham Webb's Maximize Mousse. It seemed to work well on shorter hair but if I tried to get any length on it, I just flopped. I kept blaming my hairstylist. Finally, I figured it was my products. So 4 weeks into this last haircut, I went out and bought this Sap Moss Gel Spray. My hairstylist used to use it on me in the salon but she never urged me to buy it. Well I am now 6 weeks into my haircut and at least 3 people have given me compliments on how good my hair looks. Not only that it dries faster and is much more manageable. As you can tell, I'm excited. I feel like I could do the Herbal Essence Shampoo add. Anyway, I try LOTS of products because I have my cousin as a connection to get cheap salon products. This stuff I LOVE.

Alberto V05 cucumber melon crush, Suave and Herbal Essence.

powellrj - Have you tried the Suave Nexxus knock off? It's called Humectress and it's what I'm using right now. Smells and works just the same and it's $1.50. They have a shampoo and conditioner. It's great!

Christine - wow do we have very similar tastes in hair care products! It's so funny! I am using the Aveda Sap Moss spray gel as we speak (I love how all Avedas stuff smells!). I am using the above mentioned Suave shampoos/conditioners and the Aveda spray gel/hair spray. I don't like the hairspray... it's WAAAYY toooo sticky. I love Jingles hair spray and am right now on an adventure trying to find it around here. It's wonderful. I've also used Graham Webb products and really like them too. My step mom is in haircare and she is the one who turned me onto ISO. I now buy it from American Discount Beauty online. I've used them a few times.

leahannapen,,
Very funny. I don't like Aveda hair spray either. I think it is sticky too. Especially the Firmata--that stuff is SERIOUS! My favorite hair spray is Sebastian Shaper Plus. I bet we have the same kind of hair.

Aveda Shampure right now with Rosemary Mint Conditioner.

I like Clove shampoo too from Aveda.

Actually anything Aveda works for me - I get a great deal on it so I can't pass it up!

I use Pantene shampoo/ conditioner combo, as well as conditioner. In the FL humidity, I use the "smooth" type. Every few days I wash with Sheer Blonde shampoo, to take advantage of my new FL sun-streaks and get rid of any build-up.
I have tried other shampoos/conditioners (available from the grocery store) but always come back to Pantene. Maybe if I ever set foot in a salon, I would try something else!

We're using shampoo bars that we bought at Basin at Downtown Disney.

Us Too!! We bought two bars (swim repair and one other) when we were there last month. I just reordered online and got DH the men's one (don't remember the name) and Hair Food. Plan on stocking up when we are down there over NYE.

I either use Aveda Brilliant shampoo and conditioner or Aveda Rosemary Mint shampoo and conditioner. I'm pretty picky with all of my grooming products -- Aveda for my hair, Kiehl's for my face, and once in a while some Lush for fun bath goodies.

Laura and TIdoublegaER......are these real bars (like soap bars) you guys are using on your hair? Seems like that would be awkward. Sounds like they're nice, tho.:D

For all of you that answered......sounds like many of you switch shampoos on a regular basis. That could maybe be my problem with my dry unmanageable hair....I have been using the same shampoo for over a year!!:o :o I have been using Suave Biobasic

Maybe I'll try Pantene or that Back to Basic a bunch of you are using.:D

Because I color my hair with an auburn shade many shampoos will fade the color. Red shades are one of the most difficult shades to care for. I find the Paul Mitchell color protect shampoo and conditioner to be the best for me. It keeps the color true.

I shampoo daily so it's important to use a shampoo that does not strip the color out and turns it brassy red.

Currently I am using Redken Color Extend shampoo & conditioner - gotta wash those grays right out of my hair!!! Annmarie

Since I just had my hair highlighted last week, I'm using Shimmer Lights by Clairol to keep my color from fading and turning brassy.
I use Dove Conditioner.

I need a new shampoo, I'm so glad I read this thread - I have fine hair too, gonna try some of the suggestions that were made here.

BTW, I'm using Aussie Moist at this very moment and while it gives my hair the added moisture it needs in the summer, it also weighs my hair down.

My miracle product is Matrix Amplify, which is a styling product. Its the only product I have ever found that adds significant body to my hair, and it lasts all day long. :)

I recently discovered this line of hair care products myself!

Right now I'm using the Tangerine Twist shampoo AND conditioner. It lathers up nicely and smells wonderfully!

I switch off every 6-7 months, depending on my mood.

I recently switched to Garnier Fructis and it works great :D It makes my hair really soft - I've tried Pantene and I even like the Garnier better than that. It's the first shampoo and conditioner I've used where I really noticed a difference in my hair once I used it for a while. They also have a deep conditioner that would be great for dry hair.

Boy, do I sound like a commercial or what? ;)

HeyMickey, I also love Garnier Fructis! I sound like a commercial too when I tell my friends about it. I always get pretty good results when switching shampoos but Garnier is awesome. It really has made a huge difference in my hair. Pantene makes my hair too soft but Garnier makes it soft and adds body. Love it!
