What secretly annoys you about social situations?

Mingling with people who cannot carry on an intelligent conversation about important things.

I have found in recent years, that its better to stick to easy conversations, than wade off into the deep waters with heavy topics, such as politics, religion, covid, the border, different communities, social media and now all the different wars. Alot of finger pointing and complete lack of respect for the other guest opinion.

I remember when you could have a conversation about important things that would encourage different ideas and open communication and thought process'... That's all gone now... If you differ in any way on anything someone will take offense, some folk now are just looking for a reason....you can be crucified for just disagreeing with other guest, or stating an opinion and for goodness sake don't challenge anything, even if you can back up your thought or point with facts...

Social gatherings should be fun and enjoyable, not become a heated debate about everything...
