Mine would be Caseys & Biergarten. Just walking by Caseys and the smell of saurkraut makes me nauseous. I have a preconceived idea that Biergarten would smell much the same, and the menu items do nothing for me. Therefore, those are mine.

Le Celliar so called steak house, been there done that with no wish to return,
they offer limited choice of steaks, tough and no flavor, seating is so tight you can eat off someones else plate, dark and noisy, the service and checkin is an expericence all in it self. You wait, and wait, and wait. Not A fan of Le Cellier,
I would go to the fish place before eating there again.
OH wait, I did, Excellent fish and chips with no wait.

Let's see... Garden Grill, Sci-fi Diner, Hollywood & Vine, Coral Reef, Cape May, Whispering Canyon and Liberty Tree Tavern. None of them do it for us!

Hollywood & Vine- Characters do nothing and food would not bring me in.

Hawaiian Luau?- Food never gets great reviews and I would rather just go to 'Ohana

Olivia's Cafe. Maya Grill, Shutters, Trail's End- would never go out of my way to eat there

Yaki & yeti- food does not interest me besides their dessert

Saana- food just doesn't appeal to me! I know it gets great reviews though

ESPN Club- basic bar food that I have no desire to eat at

Thats a pretty big list!! Haha

Tony's - it looks like Olive Garden on a bad day. And Olive Garden sucks to begin with.

For me, the smell of the ketchup coming from Casey's is even more overwhelming than the sauerkraut. I still like some of their food, though.

I've never tried any buffets or character meals and I don't intend to.

Hmm, my "Don't even want to try..." list consists of:
  • 'Ohana - I don't eat chicken, shrimp, pork, and not a fan of bread pudding. This leaves me with beef and noodles. Not worth the hassle of getting a reservation if that's all I'm going to eat.
  • Tony's - Better choices in and around the MK for lunch/dinner. If I want Italian, I'll go to Tutto, Via Napoli, or Il Mulano (if not on DDP)
  • '50s Primetime - I don't get too involved with the interaction. Sorry, I'm a stick in the mud :p. Only interested in the meatloaf on the menu, and I can get meatloaf just about anywhere.
  • WCC - Same reasons as '50s, but without any interest for stuff on the menu.
  • HDDR - While I wouldn't mind seeing the show, but chicken and ribs leave much to be desired for my taste.
  • Most CS places (Casey's, ABC Commissary, Electric Umbrella, etc)

My list of "Been there, don't want to go back..." consists of:
  • Marrakesh - I should have listened to reviews here, but my sense of wanting something different than Coral Reef (which I had also never been to) made me change. Food was dry, tasteless, and service was poor (and there were only about 6 parties in the restaurant at the time). Not a place to return to.
  • Kona Cafe - Food was great, service was good for breakfast (dinner another story), but we found a 6 legged friend under our bread (luckily at the end of the meal). Pretty much closed the book on that one. Interesting note, the Longboard Ale is bottled in Portsmouth, NH, about 45 minutes away from where I lived when I lived up there. I had just found that pretty neat.
  • Hollywood & Vine - Food was meh. Had gone for the characters 2 years ago, don't need to go back.
  • Tusker House - Food this year was not as good as last year and service/seating was horrible. 30 minutes past ADR time to get seated, told characters would be by in 20 minutes, 45 minutes later they were just getting to our section. Decided to duck out (no pun intended) before they got to us as it'd still be another 15+ minutes or so...
Man, these lists are getting longer :(.

We just finished making our adr's for our upcoming trip...first time on site! I stayed away from buffets...I just don't like them in general. However...........I did book Boma! I am still second guessing this one, but most of us like to try new foods and I thought one buffet would be nice for the kids.

Hollywood and Vine because of the consistently horrible reviews.

I will NEVER go to Columbia Harbor House again either--chicken that tastes like fish isn't appealing to me :-(

I will never return to H & V. Bad food, bad service, dirty restaurant and rest room.
I have been to Yachtsman Steakhouse 3 times and will not return. Service was great, it is a beautiful setting and the rolls are delicious. But that is all we liked, in all 3 tries.

OH wait, I did, Excellent fish and chips with no wait.>>>>I agree with this, word for word. Their steak isnt great at all, and the famous and heavenly soup and bread that everyone raves about sucks too. Very disappointed. Ive had better bread and soup in my hometown restaurants and my local sandwich shop! Ambiance at LC isnt great either. Way too cramped. Would never go back. As a Canadian, I have to say our steak houses are not as bad as le cellier!!!!

Tony's - it looks like Olive Garden on a bad day. And Olive Garden sucks to begin with.>>>your being nice by comparing it to olive garden....I would say its far below chef boyardee!

The other restaurant I have no desire to try in my lifeteime is Makaresh.

Hmm, that's a tough one because I'm usually up for trying anything once. Some that are pretty low on my list though:

Hollywood and Vine (unless they change the characters to something DD would love)
Boma - menu just doesn't appeal
Captain Jack's - no specific reason other than I never really hear much about this restaurant
Spirit of Aloha - food and show don't appeal

It is easier for me to narrow the field a bit before having to make the hard decisions on which restaurants we get to try next than it probably is for some who have been as few times as us, because I have a food allergy. I have a problem with fish and even the smell of it can bring on a feeling like my throat is going to close up so most of the seafood restaurants are out for me. No matter how nice of a review Flying Fish or Cape May may get it just wouldn't be a smart bet that I'd be happy with it in the long run.

After that, even tho my family did drag me in last time, Casey's would be a place I'd never have tried on my own. I'm so unimpressed with hotdogs as a restaurant food... I just have a hard time understanding. :lmao: but I do like sauerkraut, I'd just rather be choosy about what kind of hotdog, sandwich or sausage I have it with and do it at home as most hotdogs you get out are not good imo.

my big hang-up that is hard to decide about is Tony's. The reviews are pretty bad overall but I just want it to be a good restaurant. I want to eat at the Lady and the Tramp restaurant and I know I shouldn't do it. :lmao:

What places do I have no desire to try?

  • 1900 Park Fare (not into characters or that interested in buffets)
  • Akershus (same reason as above re: characters)
  • Garden Grill (again, same as above)
  • Biergarten (not a huge fan of German food)
  • Electric Umbrella (why eat here when you have Sunshine Seasons and the World Showcase?)
  • Tony's Town Square (not a big Italian fan, but if I want Italian I'd do Il Mulino or Tutto)
  • CRT (characters)
  • Whispering Canyon Cafe (not looking for "shenanigans" when we go to eat)
  • Ohaha (characters, and I imagine it to be a nut house in this place!)
  • Cape May Cafe (characters, buffet)
  • Captain's Grill (would rather go to YSH or Shula's)
  • Tusker House (characters, buffet)
  • Fulton's (seems pricey and would prefer to go to bluezoo for seafood)
  • Hollywood & Vine (characters, buffet)
  • Rainforest Cafe (we have them around me, so it's not different enough)
  • Chef Mickey's (characters, buffet....are we noticing a theme here?)
  • Le Cellier (the reviews seem good enough, it's just not somewhere I'm really interested in going)

I'm sure there are more than this on my list, if you can believe it. Might the list change though either a) once we have kids or b) if DH decides he'd like to try one of these places? Sure. I'm not really opposed to going to most of them---just not ones that appeal to me.

Ones we haven't tried... and probably won't, lol:

Marrakesh
Biergarten
Hacienda de San Angel
Cap'n Jacks
Spirit of Aloha
Mickey's Backyard BBQ
Shutter's
Boatwrights

Some restaurants that I had no desire to try have turned out to be favorites! Thats why its great to read all the dining reviews. I had no desire to try Liberty Tree Tavern. Totally off the radar for me. I kept reading great reviews about the food, so gave it a try. I ate there on my past trip in August and it was one of the best meals all week. The pot roast and the ooey gooey tofee cake were fantastic.

I also had no desire to try Biergarten. The idea of sitting with strangers turned me off. Again, we ate there in August and we had a great time. It was one of my son's favorite restaurants. Not everything we tried was great, but lots of other things were really good. That goes for all bufferts. It was a really fun place and we would go back.

No desire to try Sci-Fi. The menu seemed kind of boring. We ate there this trip because I wanted to pick a few places for my son to enjoy. The atmosphere was great, and I thought the food was quite good.

I have no desire to try Teppan Edo. We've done teppankayi a million times (mostly for the entertainment factor) and it pretty much is the same fairly plain, high-sodium meal everywhere. Last time I did a teppankayi, I was so bloated I almost couldn't take off my ring.

I'm pretty much game for everything else.
