What resort would you NEVER stay at

Just the thought of my husband and I pitching a tent in the campgrounds of FW makes me hysterical. :rotfl2: We've never camped out, it just seems like punishment to spend a week in a tent. Roughing it for us is having no channel changer.

We would NEVER stay at CSR - it just looks too much like a convention centre - very impersonal.

Gotta agree with CSR, have no use for the theming. Will try to never stay at values again either. The mods and deluxes have spoiled me.

I would try any resort once. I wouldn't make a determination based on looks from pictures alone. That said, the Contemporary and POFQ would be out for me.

The Poly.

We actually changed our vacation once because the Poly & AKL were the only deluxes available.

Almost never: allstar sports
probably never: swan or dolphin- I've never even visited but no one seems to really rave about them, and just how disney are they?

NB

Never say never when it comes to WDW, but I have no desire to stay at GF. The Victorian theming doesn't appeal to me at all, especially for the price.

In the never-stay-there-again category, it's BC. Again, the turn-of-the-century theming is not my thing, nor is the crowded SAB.

But if someone let me stay there for free, they'd become my favorites in a hurry.

Just cuz of the headache inducing icons, I would not stay in any of the values.

I wouldn't rule out any moderates, though Coronado Springs doesn't really appeal to me.

My goal is to stay at all of the Deluxes at least once, but that being said I have a hard time getting excited about Yacht Club or Beach Club (cuz I'm from New England) or Polynesian (just does not appeal to me).

Fw campgrounds. I hate camping. I have no desire to stay at the All star resorts either.

I love  the Dolphin. The Dolphin is DH's favorite place to stay at WDW now. I liked it a lot also. We had a wonderful stay there during Hurricaine Jeanne. Don't rule them out. The Heavenly beds are soooo worth it. :cloud9:

I don't think I will turn down any resort but, PC would be last on my list. But I am up for trying any. :p

..for no other reason than cost. For the upper level money, our Deluxe of choice is the Yacht Club. If we could afford the GF, we would rather stay longer at the YC. Just a bit toooo posh for us simple folk.

There isn't one I wouldn't stay at- any room at WDW is better than a room at home!!

I can't imagine camping out at Disney, either, so I guess the campgrounds are out for us.
The GF does remind me of one of those hotels in scary movies---The Shining, Rose Hill, etc.

The Port Orleans hotels are out b/c I am from Louisiana and these don't really hold my interest.

If it were these or no Disney, though, I would take any of these in a minute.

I probably wouldn't stay at CS, CB, or the Contemp. This will be our only trip without kids for now, so a deluxe is great. For future trips I think the values are OK. I worked at All Star Sports and I knew a lot of families that stayed there because of the themeing. When my kids are little value is good and as they get older maybe moderats for the pools.

Edited in: I would probably never stay in POFQ. I live in Ne2w Orleans and I think the themeing would be a bit much for us! ;)

It still amazes me how many people really dislike CSR. I love that place. :cheer2:

Generally I'd be happier anywhere at WDW than at home, but FW is where I draw the line. I would rather stay home than camp--I am not a nature girl, especially with the creepy crawlies that inhabit Florida!

We've outgrown our All Star days--we only lasted one night at ASMu (which at the time of our honeymoon a few years ago was a splurge for us!) before calling over the Contemporary and begging them to take us early. The Contemporary was better, but not by much. That's definitely on our "never again" list. I can't really see myself staying at CBR either--it just does nothing for me.

FW...I'm not a camper girl, but I'd probably stay at the WLV. I'm checking it out this summer when we eat at WCC. Maybe, the Values, but I've never been there..it wouldn't be my 1st choice. DEFINTELY (and it's not a Disney hotel but on the property) is Grosvenor!!! We stayed there on our 1st trip (since I was younger) in 2000 and we had one of those rooms off to the side of the tower..they were soooo old and decrepid! ANd I hate outside corridors! It was so bad that a year later we bought into the DVC sight unseen! We never even took a tour or stopped at one of those kiosk things to look at it. (My sister is DVC so we checked her stuff out). The ONLY plus was they had a good breakfast. My accomodations have to be as nice as my home or I don't feel like I'm on vacation.

I'd have to go with Fort Wilderness......I hate camping, just not my idea of vacation. But isn't it great that Disney has all the different choices for all of us??? It would be a pretty boring world if we all liked exactly the same thing.......
