What resort would you NEVER stay at

I have to disagree with most posts on here. I loved the All Star Music and also the AS Movies. The theme was great the atmosphere happy and up beat. When I come to Disney I'm not there to relax and sit around. We hit the parks and enjoy. We plan good meals at the parks or resorts but go back to rooms just for quick dips in the pool or to sleep at night. That being said I'll be at the CR this July, but like the AS. We did stay at POP this past summer and was not impresssed.
Anyone know what going on with the resort across from POP years 00-40?
I have no desire for WL or GF and hated the CBR.

JJ,

I don't like the clown either.

"You can call me ray, you can call me j, you can call me ray j, ....., but you doesn't have to call me Johnson" I think that is from an the old Laughin show.
Your name reminded me of that bit.

I know that there are people like you who are happy just to be at Disney and that's a good thing. After a few visits though, you seem to get spoiled like the case with me and my family. I don't like using the word never, but when it comes to value resorts, I would have to.I've seen the rooms and they just look too small for my family and seemed too loud for my tastes. My first family visit was in Oct 2002 we splurged and stayed at the Poly and now we are spoiled. It's great having the monorail at your resort and the theming is great! I stayed at a CR garden room in Feb 2004 and found it to be too far from the pool and the restaurants, shops and we just didn't like the theme of the rooms or the pool. It seemed cold and the building needed color. If I stayed at the CR again it would have to be a tower room, I think that would be pretty cool. FW cabins I would like to try but no way am I going to sleep on the ground in a tent during the hot summer with no A/C. I guess that doesn't sound like a vacation to me.

Lest you make erroneous assumptions, except for a quick trip with just me and my eldest ds, I've only stayed in deluxes. And, we go annually, sometimes twice a year, so it's not like I don't have any basis of comparison. We haven't stayed at the same place twice, and my goal is to try them all. I still say as long as I'm at Disney I'm happy. I honestly HATED BWV and would rather stay at Pop.

Oh, and by the way--what exactly is "people like me"?

I wouldn't say NEVER, but would not want to do FW, All Stars, Pop Century, Boardwalk, or any moderate..... I don't how they are so spread out. I need a lobby and everything all together!

I HATE sports and can't understand all the fuss Americans make over these games, so I would HATE the All-Star Sports hotel. Not a big fan of the Values anyhow and Sports would be my last choice. Gigantic footballs are NOT my thing.

PS: to those of you who are missing the great Boardwalk Resort due to Pennywise the Clown, be aware that the dreaded "Clown Pool" is in a courtyard over by the Villas side and can easily be avoided! :p

"say goodnight Dick".

Thanks for the laugh, I needed it tonight. :rotfl:

The All Stars are a big NEVER AGAIN for us, I guess I would include the POP in that too. And there's no way you'd catch my prissy selff princess: pitching a tent at FW!!

I'm not crazy about camping - so that is probably the only place I would not want to do. To be honest, I would stay at any Disney Resort - because just being in Disney is a thrill to me. Also, I really don't stay in the resort all that much - so as long as I can take my afternoon and evening swims and have a cool drink at the bar, I'm a happy guy.

It's the small things in life.

All Star Music was the worst experience for us. I felt like I was staying at a Greyhound bus station with rooms. ;) It was dirty, noisy, and crowded. Pop Century was a million times better, but if I stayed there again I'd get two rooms. They are so small you start to feel insane after a while. :p

Fort Wilderness... did the cabins once, never again. Total nightmare... I thought I was back at girl scout camp.

CR... too ugly.

The mods... they are all the same in my opinion. They are nice but we just need queen beds now that the kids are older. I have to be able to sleep well and stretch out. DH and I sleep in a king at home so a full size bed feels like a cot. :rotfl:

Love all the other deluxes and home away from homes. They are each special in their own way. :)

I have the old, full-size map of the WDW property given at check-in mounted on my bulletin board and very much enjoy sticking a pushpin in the matching Resort after each first stay. I hope to have it fully completed some time before I die, but now that we are DVC members, I don't know if it's likely. It sure is fun to dream about, though!

A year ago, I would have said "never" to a Value resort. In fact, the one time I had a ressie at one, we changed our travel dates -- and I changed my mind -- and we stayed at POR instead. But this May, DD and I are going solo for her 5th birthday. We didn't plan on using DVC points for this stay, and I figured she would like Pop Century most of all, so that is where we are going. Even if I wanted to spend the $, I don't think GF would impress her -- at least not enough to justify the higher price tag. So for DD's sake, we will stay at a Value for the first time. Who knows, it just might be the first of many.

So, kids, the moral is never say "never!"

I don't think I would ever stay at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. For the money I would prefer the proximity of the deluxes. I went to check it out as few weeks ago on my last trip and the lobby was great but I didn't see a single animal in the savannah. I never thought I would like the Contemporary because of the decor but my boys LOVE it for the monorails so it is now one of my favs...

Never have and Never will do the campgrounds! Other than that I LOVE them all! :sunny:

None of the Values, Fort Wilderness, Caribbean Beach, or Coronado Springs. Any other Disney resort would be fine.

CLC Tiger Pom Mom :cheer2:
